Good morning tribe !
Yesterday, I went to the health club to receive and experience my personalized fitness plan, based upon the assessment I just completed. I'm actually eager to get back to strength training. I do cardio and core every visit and alternate between upper and lower body. This facility has some equipment I hadn't used before, one piece being a curving treadmill. Looks like the Sunday storm will be all rain for me.
Sadie successfully consumed and eliminated her first (and I hope only) starfish. I have her on a retractable lead for most of the time, so I am close enough to see what she's into. We've been lengthening her time off leash to play fetch, free run, make sand angels, and fortify immediate recall. We were a bit too close to the tideline when she was off leash, and she gobbled it up before I could intervene. About half that we encounter are dead already, so I'm not sure which it was. I immediately googled and found out starfish are not good for dogs but vets were split on peroxide to may them empty stomach. I have a bit more wiggle room with an 85 pound large dog, so I chose to jus****ch her closely.
I have decided that at this point, I'd rather have a portion of a truly decadent desert rather than ANY desert. I had the best Tiramisu I've ever had yesterday. Worth every bite !

It sounds like you are making the most of your freedom. Good for you!
When we were home, Justice consumed something on one of our beach walks which was down the throat before I could intervene. His little system was in rough shape for a few days but not bad enough to see a vet and he bounced back. Always a worry though...
We had a phenomenal 5 mile hike yesterday on Ka'ena Point Trail. My feet were barking a bit afterwards but it was well worth it. The biggest issue was not having any shade and 90 degree temps. Luckily they were offset to some extent by ocean breezes. Seeing endangered monk seals, albatross, and humpback whales blowing in the distance was truly awesome.
Today includes a few hours at the local beach, some cleanup, and picking Mike's son up at the airport in the late afternoon. Laundry is all done so we are in good shape to leave for Maui for a few days on Monday.
I wonder how Shirl is doing. I keep reading about the Covid surge in Australia (and everywhere) and am worried about her.
Have a safe and healthy Saturday!

I just noticed that we are all alternating post titles between January 2021 and 2022. LOL!

Greetings all
The phone rang this morning with a message about a tsunami warning on the cal coas****ched some astonishing video of the Tonga explosion taken from space!! Huge!! There is no serious tsunami danger here unless you are right down on the beach which is not a safe place to be at this time of year anyway. Some years ago there was a small one here that made a river run backward! Mother nature always wins,
And DD sounds like a major victim of Mother nature on her trip to SD. Hope things turn around and the weather gets warm.
Not much new here. You can tell I am an old person because I get all excited about my favorite coffee being on sale and making a big score.
Chicken soup underway for tonight. I am on a soup kick. Guess its because its winter and my midwestern genes demand soup. Even though its nearly 60 degrees.
DH is out shopping. The store was out of soda crackers the other day. How can we do soup?
CC glad you have a break day driving. Its fun to snuggle in bed all day and watch tv when there is snow. I so remember being taught by my dad to drive in snow - do everything slowly and try to not come to a complete stop if you can creep along. Stop = stuck. And they say steer into a skid but I have had plenty of skids and never time to think about that.
And hey Shirley!! Hello Hello!
Good for you on your workout plans Ocean Diane. Go for it.
Pet a whale for me Liz. Tee Hee.
