Peps, I hope Ron and you are feeling better.

Two days to Hawaii. That daily flight has yet to be cancelled so hopefully we get out. My advance paperwork (to prove vaccination) has been reviewed and I have my QR code. Mike needs to do the same. This morning I will do our last laundry and work on some packing. We leave for the hotel by the airport at 1:45 pm tomorrow.

Today I have my echocardiogram which is now making me nervous. What if it shows something? I have had high blood pressure for 20 years. It was lower in the first couple of years after WLS, but for most of the other years it has been a battle to control it. Various medications and combinations have been tried which is why I am seeing a cardiologist now. I am never short of breath, have no problems climbing stairs or running short distances so I sure hope all is okay.

Have a safe and as healthy as possible Tuesday!

Peps, hope you?re feeling better!

Not much going on here. I've been walking daily for the past 3 days - nothing extreme, but feels good to be moving. I'm also enjoying my Hungryroot service! The recipes are tasty (I got six this week) and very easy with more veggies than I feed myself normally. One of the things they sent was a carton of blended eggs (I'm used to the egg white ones, I didn't know they did it for whole eggs). Somehow not having to crack and scramble eggs makes me more likely to have them because of lower perceived effort. Today I put some spinach and cheese I had leftover from one of the recipes into it. There were bagels from another recipe and I had a half of one, which was plenty. Why do I never think of having halves of things that come in wholes? It's enough!

Anyway, more of the same today... Hope you all are well!

Liz, keeping you in my thoughts for today's appointment and your upcoming flight. Peps, hope you guys are feeling better. DD hope this week, including the staff development training dumped on you is surrounded by good karma and grace. Ceci, Hungryroot looks amazing ! Thanks for the recommendation. Diane, hopefully you'll have time for other things down to one studio. Shirley, hope you're okay !

I continue to make my way back into a more serene life. I'm loving the lap swimming and I had a massage at the health club today. I still have yet to get to a Zumba class, but Sadie and I walk the beach every day. Fresh fish, fruit and vegetables are plentiful, for which I am grateful !!

I'm feeling better. Still have a lot of congestion and a tickley feeling in my nose which makes me sneeze. My BFF who spent NYE with us is down for the count, too. However, worse than we are. He is fully vaxed and boosted, but is running a 101 temp. This virus really works without rhyme or reason, it seems.

Covid is good for the waistline, though. I'm down several pounds. However, today I'm beginning to feel hungry. It's 1:30 and I'm finally feeling like eating sounds like a good idea. I'll see if there is something palatable in the fridge. Oh, and as far as left overs.... Of course, out microwave blew it's brains and no longer heats food. Ugh... I may order a little counter top microwave from Amazon that I can take to work... I can't go out and order a new built in and certainly can't have anyone in the house to install it.

Keeping my fingers crossed for Liz's flight. CC sounds like you're on the right track to feeling better about your physical and emotional well being. Ocean, you definitely seem to be on the right track to living your best life! Diane S., so glad the rain stayed with you. We hardly got any and that is just fine by me! How is old dog Chip? Diamond D, so sorry about the inservice. Hope it went well. They should have just cancelled it and given y'all prep time! Shirl, hope the new year in Oz is treating you well.

Best to all!

Good vibes for Liz.

CC, the food you're describing sounds pretty yummy. I like fruits and vegetables, I'm just not crazy about prepping them. Seems like this would help.

Peps, you have to stay out all week, correct? Do you need a negative test before you can return?

Ocean Diane, I hope one day to seeking sun and serenity in the middle of the winter months. I love knowing from your example there is a life waiting for me when I transition from education.

It was good to be with the students again. Some of them have such nice energy, even if they can't focus on work for very long.

Some people stay positive for a long time after recovering from Covid so I wouldn't think that would be required? They told us that when we had it and said that the quarantine period was what counted. We did test negative though fairly quickly - Mike was about 3 weeks later and I was the next time I took one about 3 months later.

I'm with you on prepping! So far I haven't had to chop a thing. It comes with fresh and pre-cooked meats, pre-cut veggies, and sauce packs. And they do what I seem incapable of doing - giving you one ingredient and having it be used in multiple dishes so you don't have a lot leftovers. There was a pasta recipe with kale pesto and turkey burger that used the pesto too.
