Peps
on 1/3/22 12:23 am

It is barely Monday here. Diamond D you were right. My first test was negative, but today I had two positives. Both Ron and I are down with Covid. Boooooo......

Glad I am vaxxed and boosted! Otherwise, I can see what a doozy this could be. I have a bad cold, no fever, but super stuffy, scratchy throat and a cough. Ron is the same.

Cancelled my hotel reservations for Palm Springs, secured a sub for the week and will isolate for the next week or so. Boooooo!

Oh Geez! You both take it easy. From what I am reading you should be okay but you may feel miserable in the interim.

Christmas decorations are down. Depressing.

Today is 2 years since Paul died. Still unbelievable that someone so active and physically healthy was gone so early.

It may snow a bit today - I wouldn't mind walking in the snow with Justice especially at the beach if it isn't too windy.

Have a safe and as healthy as possible Monday!

Such a bummer, Peps! I was so looking forward to seeing you. Boooo!

Yesterday I taught myself to crochet. Pretty easy if you know how to knit and feels a lot better on my finger that has hurt since I bashed into the nightstand after already suffering from arthritis. I'm making a throw. Lots of upsides: it keeps my mind occupied which keeps anxiety at bay, keeps my hands busy so I wasn't eating all day, keeps me off my iPad which I have a bit of an addiction to.

No Covid here, but I did test myself because of very slight post-nasal drip and occasional sneezing. I would hesitate to say I even have a cold, maybe it's allergies?

Aside from a text on New Years which could be interpreted as either wishing you a better 2022 or I wish I'd never met you in 2021 depending on how you read it, I haven't heard from MI guy since 12/27. It's likely for the best, but I can't help the feelings of having done something wrong. Mostly it's that I have a lot of trouble sitting with the feeling of someone being mad at me. I have a pathological need to be liked apparently.

Today I have to spend a little time on a spreadsheet and then working on my throw. And a walk. I ordered from Hungryroot this past week and am really enjoying it. They send you ingredients for several recipes with two servings that cook up in less than 10 minutes along with snacks. All healthy stuff, but not at all unappealingly so. And I'm getting more veggies. I recommend if you're tired of figuring out what to feed yourself.

Hope you all have a great day!

Greetings All

Peps noooo, not covid. I am sure because you are vaxed you will be fine but no fun. Chicken soup all around. Sorry you are missing that big dog show but at least you get some time off work. Maybe this pandemic will teach people not to go to work even with a mere cold. Used to be you always showed up no matter what. Get well soon.

Cici crocheting is fun. Could be a new trend for your non knitting club. I used to do it when I was young. My grandmother was a master at it and made beautiful stuff. Not sure what happened to all that. The food order service sounds good.

Pouring rain here today and its supposed to keep up. Glad I am not in the mountains where it is snow. Dogs don't want to go out.

Speaking of dogs, a little wrestling by Tesla and Poppy turned into screaming. Turns out Tesla had her jaw under Poppy's collar. I was finally able to sort it out and unbuckle it. They seem fine now but it was scary. That collar is just too big so new one in order.

Liz I saw the pictures of Paul on FB. Wonderful bunch of photos and clips. Glad you posted that.

I need to get to the studio today and start afresh as well as to grocery store for hamburger for the dogs and other such. Might even get that ham sandwich.

Thats about it. Costco lasagne for dinner but then I have to think of food to make.

Cheers all.

Argh Peps, but maybe for the best that both of you have it at the same time?

Liz, it is amazing how Alzheimer's can progress so quickly in someone so healthy and relatively young. Here's praying that research continues, and new treatments are found for a very cruel disease.

CC, I understand that impulse to "fix" whatever, and how hard it is to sit with the discomfort of thinking you've upset someone. When I get stuck in a loop of it, I try to repeat to myself: I've done nothing wrong. Every time my mind wanders back to the uneasy knowledge they're unhappy with me, I say it. Sometimes I've just had to flat out cut off contact with a few people in my life who just know how to push my buttons.

Diane, what a crazy thing to happen with your dogs!

OceanDiane, I hope you had another morning of sunshine!

Shirl, check in when you can...

Work was fine, it was nice to see some of my colleagues. I didn't like being sick over break, but I appreciate I don't have to make a week's worth of sub plans, so there's that. In the past, we had subs that could execute a lesson plan with some skill. Now, I can't seem to leave the simplest plan and expect it to be followed.

I have a coworker who had surgery a few years after me. She has struggled with regain too. We talked about our various struggles and hopes for our health. Its a lifetime battle, that's for sure.
