It is nice to have a quiet day and not have to go anywhere other than walk with Justice. I am a little concerned though that his stomach is making a lot of noises and he is just not himself again. He seemed pretty good yesterday afternoon though he didn't eat any dinner.
Yes, the holidays have been good and comfortable with both Mike's family and mine. We fit well in each other's lives. He seems to be feeling that it is okay to tell the family that we are planning to get married before we leave on our travels next week. He had thought we would wait until we got back but I think it would be better for everyone to have time to get used to the idea (if they need to). Plus I want to celebrate it and not have it be a "secret"! He did agree that if we decided to "elope" that we absolutely have to tell the kids ahead of time and not spring a surprise marriage on them after the fact.
Time to pay the end of year bills, then perhaps walk on the beach. Big football game at 1:00.
Have a safe and healthy day after Christmas!

One good thing about being sick over Christmas, I have not gained any more weight since this fall. So no holiday pounds so far. My appetite is pretty suppressed.
My opening presents was kind of hazy yesterday. This morning I was looking for a sun dress my DD gave me. Couldn't find it. My BFF decided to clean up boxes etc last night. She threw my dress away. Luckily I looked for it today, because the trash goes out tonight. These are some of the problems when she stays with us. I didn't ask her to clean up, she just takes it upon herself. She's not allowed to use our vacuum because she breaks them when she's trying to "fix" them. Her help comes with complications, always. I love her, but she needs to stay in her lane. She also suggested my husband should buy me some jewelry she thought was a good price. It is not to my taste. It came with earrings. My ears are not pierced, the last piercing I tried closed about 15 years ago. So now I have some ruby earrings I can't wear, with a matching necklace I don't really care for. I know DH would never have bought this without prompting. Yes, please stay in your lane.
Today will be quiet, I got a new book and I think I will spend most of the day reading. There are plenty of leftovers, so we should be all set for food.
Happy Post Christmas Day!
BFF does sound like she requires patience, LOL.

Happy Boxing Day! Though I don't think I'll be doing any "boxing" today.
The last two days have been nice - filled with family and food! Surprisingly, I dropped weight. Probably from being busy and not eating full meals - especially Christmas Eve.
Puppies will be moved into the dining area today or tomorrow. That will be nice for me.... Sleeping will at least not be interrupted by puppy speak! Still, I won't sleep through, though, cuz I just don't.
Not much else.....

Quiet day. I slept a lot.
MI guy crawled out of his hole this morning and texted "Merry Christmas. I just found my phone." I might be more inclined to not think that was a lie if he hadn't ghosted me at Thanksgiving. Plus as a lawyer with that being his only phone, I am quite certain he wouldn't have rested until he found it the first day. He's sent lots of breezy texts today. I haven't felt mu*****lination to answer them with more than a word or two. I need to create some distance. If nothing else, my self-worth is not strong enough to deal with his inconsistency (which is something to work on, but not for him). I start out thinking I haven't done anything wrong and not worrying. And as the days go by I lose that perspective and am sure I caused it and start analyzing everything I said or did.
Still eating too much, but at least I stepped on the scale this morning. It's not pretty!
Greetings All
Merry Christmas! Ours was pleasant and grown up. We went to friends, had a nice dinner and exchanged gifts. Left at 6 pm as everyone was falling asleep. We are all so old. These friends have a lovely home but it is packed with too much furniture, large plants, two christmas trees (used to be 6) and a huge furry rug that is wadded up. We are all so decrepit that it is grid lock! Once you are at the dinner table you cant leave because you are blocked in. Very dear friends but it drives me crazy to feel trapped. One woman needs a walker now and another has a broken shoulder. Its a traffic jam!! Reminds me of my mom's 90th birthday party where they lined up chairs and every person was using a walker and it was practically a pile up!. These are dear friends and I would never say anything but their whole house is an accident waiting to happen! Of course, my house is perfect and has no junk whatsoever. LOL
Yeah Liz you and Mike might as well spill the beans. Sounds like a good plan.
Peps, puppy sounds are so charming. Every two hours. Day and night.
CC MI guy told you he lost his phone? Seriously? Like you cant have someone call your phone to find it. DH has a find my phone ap which he used when he lost his phone at the dump. Too late. It was run over by a tractor.
We watched the movie "Don't Look Up" last night. Its really good. Great satire/social commentary. But scary true.
DD so glad you are feeling a bit better. A holiday home in bed can be restorative. Sorry you had to miss your gathering but it was wise.
I just ordered some stuff from Lands End. My kind of clothes these days. I feel guilty throwing clothes in the garbage but most of my old stuff is just to crummy to give away. I was feeling guilty about throwing away old underwear but I finally took them to the dumpster at the studio.
DD I cant believe your BFF threw out a dress of yours!! But I know you gotta love these friends from way back and cherish them. My best friend from childhood was a neat freak and I am a slob but I so miss her. But tee tee, her daughter is a slob like me.
Take care all. I chopped up the rest of the pot roast and cooked some barley with it. Comfort food for rainy northern cal.
