Christmas Eve, 2021

It is snowing! They had said it might but we didn't believe it. Justice had to be dragged out for a very short walk this morning. That cold white stuff freaks him out LOL.

So I had a good cry last night about missing Elise my eldest DD. Christmas has so many memories of her. Mike was very understanding and it felt kind of good to let it out.

Time to get my act in gear as I have to go get apples to make a pie (I forgot that I was assigned that). Today is pie and cookie making followed by a gathering at DS's birth mother's home (in the next town). Younger DD and her BF are coming this afternoon and staying over tonight. Older DD will come midday tomorrow.

Have a safe and healthy Christmas Eve!

Liz I'm glad to hear Mike is there for both the great fun you two have, and to share your justifiable sorrows.

I am.so.sick. It no longer matters to me if it's Covid or not. I'm not going anywhere. I have one of those little oxygen thingies you clip on your finger, and I'm doing okay there. I'm taking the max dosage I can of Nyquil, alternating with Advil for muscle aches. DH got the vaporizer out and that's given me some relief. My immune system is usually aces after all these years with students, but something terrible has slipped past.

One of my specialties is pasta shells. DH came up to the bedroom and took copious notes and is in the kitchen trying to make them. Its going to be a quiet night here. My son and his girlfriend are bypassing us and going straight to my parents home. If DH and DD have negative quick tests tomorrow, and no symptoms, they'll join them for the day.

I'm sad, but there's nothing to be done, except surrender to it. Next week should be better.

I am so sorry DD! I hope you feel better soon. It is so not fair that you are missing out on the holiday and feel so miserable. Hugs!

Greetings all you little elves

White Christmas Liz. Lucky you! Its supposed to snow a ton inland which is good for next years water supply. I am glad I am not there. Rain here.

And chicken livers are cooked and cooling much to the delight of the dogs. They will each get one except I don't know if old Chip will eat it. He is not well.

Darn it DD, so sorry you are sick. Chicken soup needed. Hope you recover soon and some Christmas is saved up.

Dinner at friends tomorrow. Stuff is still not wrapped. Must go faster.

I have eaten decently today. But the day ain't over yet.

Peace and joy to all.

Merry Christmas, one and all!

Taking a quick break from preparations to eat a little something and sit for a few minutes before getting some last minute wrapping done and tonight's salad prepped. If I have time, I will wipe down the hallway base boards. Then, I'm good to go!

DD, so sorry you are sick. No fun at all.

I hope Chip is able to enjoy a chicken liver. It's hard when they really lose interest in life's pleasures.

My dad's dementia seems to be getting in and out of the express lane. He was well at the beginning of the week, but as he spent more time alone this week, he wandered off into the land of paranoia and 'possible' delusions. Not the Christmas news I wanted this morning.

Wishing everyone a wonderful Christmas!

Lots of rain here! My house got cleaned today, I've been reading, watched a little tv, and making pasta for dinner. I talked to my dad and they seem to be doing fine. Foodwise, my friend gave me a tin of Walker's shortbread and I ate it all in 2 days. Argh. I love that stuff and it's so calorie-laden.

Not much else to report! Sending love to all!
