Three days to Christmas. EEK! It is a season to feel sad, happy, overwhelmed, and relaxed. Many emotions. I miss eldest DD and DH the most during the holidays, yet some of my best memories of them come back as well.
I am getting more worried about Covid and travel but more as to the effect it may have on what we can do. My gut (and reading) tells me that those of us vaccinated, boosted, and even recovered from a previous illness are not likely to get more than a mild case if we catch it. I think the biggest risk is to others who are immune compromised.
Anyway, time to leave for appointment #4 of 7 (dental cleaning). Have a safe and healthy Wednesday!

Diamond Diane, my baseboards honestly do need cleaning! Dogs, you know! LOL!
The cold is adding to my inclination to be unproductive! Actually, it's been very nice the past few days doing only a few things each day. I am allowing myself some down time, which is nice, though it feels "wasteful" somehow. I need to make my to do list for today.
Puppy weaning begins today. Always fun, but adds to my daily chores.
Already sore from last evening's workout. It's the good kind of sore, btw.
Not much else to report here.....
Happy hump day.
Greetings All
Still drinking coffee in pajamas here. Love being retired. Yeah for about 2 years I felt like I was skipping school every day - doing grocery shopping at 11 am on a tuesday. Unthinkable in the old days.
Played scrabble with my buds yesterday. Very fun. Chatter about current events and being leisured retirees. We allow looking up words even though we play at a pretty high level. Did you know that "inaner" is a word. Say that three times fast. Sounds ridiculous.
Went back to the grocery to pick up the stuff I forgot the day before. Bought some Christmas gifts. Super fancy coco mix, tea towels and various groovey items. Yep, my preferred wrapping method is gift bags. Reusable. I have suggested our gallery get a bunch instead of offering gift wrap which is pretty hard with only one person working and no space. Some of our members do exquisite gift wrapping. I am not one of them. Lucky for me I am off duty until new years eve and then take my leave.
Errands to the bank today. Maybe a studio stop though I would just rather goof off. Must make a trip to the shipping place for a non christmas item.
We had a 6.2 earthquake monday. A pretty good shake but no damage. Some stores had breakage. Dogs felt it first and DG apple watch gave a warning. Ho hum, life in northern ca. I got a call from a friend of mine who just moved to Alabama and it was big news there.
Peps all I can think about is those 18 x 8 little toenails to clip! Reminds me I gotta do our dogs.
Best to all of you that are traveling. I am grateful I don't need to go anywhere and live in a place thats cozy and beautiful.
7 appointments in one day Liz!! I cant count that high anymore.
Cheers all. Time for me to go bag gifts.

Gift bags are the best!!!
7 appointments in 3 weeks (while home), not 1 day. I am not that crazy! But now I have only completed 4 of 8 since a filling is starting to crack and needs to be replaced. Darn it! My appointments remaining are Vet early Monday, filling early Wednesday, hair mid-day next Thursday, and echocardiogram on 1/4. So spread out...

I am feeling swamped with these appointments to tell the truth. But then I'm done for at least 6 months to a year. I have to fit them in when I am north.

Ha, my floorboards probably need a good cleaning too, since the cleaning service was such a bust! In the glorious days of our yellow lab Bella, I tried to vacuum everyday, just a quick run through, and do one room each day with the crevice tool to get in all the corners on a rotating basis. That dog should have been bald for all the hair she shed. She has been gone six years, and I still find a Bella hair every so often.
My DH ran errands with me today, and oh what a difference to have someone help lug $300 dollars worth of groceries and wine home, and then carry it into the house and help put it away. I am a puddle of gratitude. And I suspect he may have a better understanding about everything that goes into orchestrating the Festival of Christmas.
To express my gratitude, I am heading into the kitchen to make Shepherd's Pie (actually cottage pie because I'm using beef). Not a big sacrifice, since I really like it too.
Shepherd's pie - yummm.
