It's a chilly morning here! Brrr.

I had a nice walk with a friend yesterday, but it was cold. 6 degrees colder than my house in MI! Granted, they were having an unusual warm spell.

My eating has been extraordinarily heavy on the white carbs. I think I may be nearing the tipping point where they stop sounding good and I actually want a vegetable.

As a result of those carbs, I went to bed super early, which meant I was up just as early.

Today I have lunch with a friend (who is very long winded, but nice.) and then therapy.

I hope everyone is having a good day!

Weight has ballooned 3 pounds in 2 days! CARBS and SUGAR! No shock, no judgement, but definitely a reminder that the next two days should be met with caution when making choices about my food intake.

Was on the phone for quite some time last night with the HMO advice people. The nurse actually patched into an ER doc to see if the ER doc wanted me in the ER. ER doc felt I was fine to wait until today. Diane made a good call. The symptoms are indicative of cellulitis. I have an appointment today at 2:10, albeit via video conference. Will be interesting to see if I end up having to go in or if the doc will prescribe antibiotics without me going in.

Puppies are beginning to need wandering space. Damn! I was hoping they would hold off until the weekend. Ron found two pups outside of the box today. Ugh....

I could not find my Grinch scarf today. Made me sad. I wanted to wear it.

My 25 minute commute to school turned into a 1 hour and 25 minute commute today due to a single traffic signal out. YIKES! Luckily, I was not the only teacher caught up in that mess, so there was no question in my Admin's mind about my tardiness!

Switched out most of my classroom furniture yesterday. (We have a classroom that acts as a storage room these days since we have diminished enrollment, so I went shopping in there! Found what I needed and switched out the furniture.) I needed to exert some control over the environment and to rein in some loosey goosey behaviors. I am mostly pleased with the result.

We are back on Cape Cod! It is 55 today so not a huge shock but realizing what needs to be done in my house was sobering. Just sorting through the mail is going to be a pain even though all bills were sent to me. I just had to call my landscaper because the leaves haven't been cleaned up yet. And I have to finish the Christmas decorating. I would LOVE to just stay in Florida for Christmas some year but I don't think my kids would forgive me aand they have never had a lot of time off at Christmas to come visit.

Anyway, I just need to prioritize and get done what I need to and forget the rest. Right now I am at the bank because I finally have all the paperwork take care of the last of DH's estate.

I somewhat chuckled over the clutter discussion as DH tended to be like Ron and DD's husband. I kind of managed him like DD does. Mike is a bit more cluttered than me but really very little so I just leave his stuff alone at least at this point.

Hopefully the bank person is free soon as I don't really want to spend all afternoon here. We have been waiting in lines, etc. since about 6 am so I don't have a lot of waiting left in me,

Have a safe snd healthy Wednesday!

It was 56 degrees yesterday, today it is 19! There was a tornado on the ground during the storm, luckily nobody was injured, but there was property damage. Friday, a foot of snow, Wednesday, a thunderstorm that spawned a tornado, and dropped an inch of rain. A 36 degree swing in temperature in about 12 hours.

There is now a national tik tok trend to commit an act of violence at a school tomorrow. Our district sent an email that there are no credible threats against any school in our district. I am so, so tired of this $%%&. How many students will stay home tomorrow? I can't say I blame them. I'd like to stay home too. But here's the deal, some students will be there, so I need to be there too. It's just making a difficult, challenging year so much more difficult. And in the back of my mind, I know the police can't know about every possible threat. It's just another reminder it's all a crap shot whether some kid comes to school with a gun.

So I'm home sipping tea, trying to remember the odds that something will happen to me or my students is infinitesimal.

On a happier note, my husband vacuumed yesterday without my asking. And we had a potluck today, and I feel okay about what I ate.

The wind is so bad in Michigan that the power is out all over the state. My folks' power went out this morning and they are saying it won't be fixed until Saturday night!

We charged up everything that could hold a charge yesterday, just in case ... There are sticks and branches everywhere from our self pruning trees, but luckily the power stayed on.

Greetings Peeps and Peps

Sun is out here. No tornados. DD I am astounded that Minnesota had a tornado and snow at the same time. Many years ago I remember seeing lightning in a snow storm. But a tornado?? Seriously God? Stay safe. And stay safe at school. Jeez how can school violence be a fad now. Its astonishing that students today have to worry about other kids with guns.

Peps so glad DianeO gave you some spot on advice and that you got some help. It sure looked like something that needed attention. And now you have marauding puppies!

Yeah tis the season of the white carbs. I have not been tempted by the goodies brought by the housekeeper - I think that bite of hideous fudge did the trick to keep me out of it.

Dentist today to look at the broken tooth. He put some kind of putty patch on it but it will need a crown as I expected. My dentist is so hilarious. He has a foot long pony tail, is about 60 pounds overweight, wears giant Hawaiian shirts and wears crocs with fuzzy socks and sings along with the 60s music. He also has a huge collection of goofy art and each exam room has a theme. I was in the ocean themed room today. There is a jungle room and I forget what else.

Time to cook for the dogs. No cooking for DH. He is in colonoscopy prep. I know, TMI.

I want to go to your dentist. Mine is awesome and fun to chat with (feels like he's a friend, he's been taking care of our whole family for 26 years), but he does not have themed rooms. And I love commitment to a good theme.
