Well, I'm almost packed and everything fits but wow are my bags stuffed to the gills!

We just have to finish putting things being stored here in the owners closet and pack the luggage and the things being stored at my Florida home in the car. It will be a VERY tight squeeze as it is a two door sporty car.

We are going to dress up and go to dinner tonight for a last date night here until April. Tomorrow morning we will do the remaining car packing and drive the 3 hours to my place on the opposite Florida coast. Thursday morning we should be departing on the plane just prior to 8:00 am to return to 3 weeks of winter (brrr...).

And yes, we already have a full docket of social stuff up north. Dinner out with eldest DD, DS and SIL on Thursday night; Christmas celebration with Mike's family on Saturday; Christmas Eve with DS' birth family; Christmas with my family at SILs; New Years Eve and New Years Day in Boston. The latter is my Christmas gift to Mike who is emphatic about not wanting "things". Oh and a bunch of doctor and vet appointments plus some necessary banking. Whew! I think by the time Mike and I hit our 2 year dating anniversary in mid-summer we will need to seriously settle down.

Time to hit the shower. Have a safe and healthy Tuesday!

I am committing to working on minor organizational changes. Though not truly ADD (ADHD), I have ADD tendencies. These tendencies lead to procrastination in a very big way for the minutia of my life - mail, bills, balancing the checkbook, etc.... I'm also that way at school. Papers pile up and get to an overwhelming level. It's silly really. Up until I was about 50 I was really very much on top of those things at home (never really been all that good at school with the paper stuff!), but the older I get the less I seem to really care about such things - though I do feel bad about letting myself down by not being on top of those things. So, I'm trying a strategy of just getting a few things done each day to keep things on an even keel.

Had a shrink session yesterday. Our connection failed twice. That sort of halted the flow of conversation and thought.

Finished decorating as planned. YAY!

The treats are out in full force at school. Good stuff, too. Hard to stay away 100%. I am allowing myself some leeway.

Liz, do you ever suffer burnout? I'm being sarcastic, but I can tell you that I certainly would with your schedule!

Yes, I have felt burnout at times. To that point, I don't think I have ADD though I do have some needs around clutter (more OCD like). But I definitely have been more likely to procrastinate if there is a lot to deal with as I get older because I just don't give as much of a s--t. I do try to follow a philosophy of worrying about one thing at a time (the next thing). Remember though that I have about 55 more hours per week in my life since I retired 4 years ago.

Funny - kind-of. Mike is cleaning counters and microwaves and vacuuming in advance of the housekeeper coming in so they won't think badly about him. I do pick up clutter before my housekeeper comes in, but no more than that. I have tried to explain that he is paying them to do the stuff he is doing but he doesn't want to hear that. He says they should just look around and do what he missed even though I explained that they will redo the counters, etc. I guess he will learn when we have a regular one at a joint place (he doesn't see it that way in Falmouth yet).

Whatever...

Good Morning All

Popping in - its hump day and another corker of a week. The weather has finally turned hot and the phones are ringing off their heads. Its a juggle but the days do fly...

This is the last week for our longest serving employee - he is moving interstate to be with family. I will miss him. We have his farewell in tandem with our Christmas Party on Friday night. Should be great. I have the teams gifts all sorted. I love giving presents. As I dont drink I will be the responsible person for getting a few of them home after dinner - including DH who has his works Christmas lunch at a brewery before he comes to mine. Could be an interesting night.

We are taking my mum up to the farm Saturday morning. We need to vaccinate the cows and get the mowing etc done. Have planned a family dinner in Beechworth for an early Christmas catch up. Should be lovely. Will call into one of our close friends on Sunday on the way home. Busy times but good.

DSS partner is coming over with our grandbabies tonight. Im looking forward to seeing them. I got up early and did the marinade for Mongolian Beef - with serve with garlic rice and stir fry veggies.

Liz - you are sounding super organised. I bet you would have to be with so many things on - Tis the season :)

Peps - Good luck avoiding the treats - Im finding they are creeping into my day/evening...... The scales will show me - uggg

Love to all that follow. I had best go tackle the mountain of things on my to do list

Greetings All

Sun's out. Feels good.Studio buddy is here to get help setting up iPhone. But there will be hours of talking before anything is accomplished.

I go to PT today. Appointment was made over a month ago. I had written ept for 3:30 on the calendar. Auto correct wrote "eat 3:30 pm". Weeks later I looked at the calendar and wondered why I had scheduled myself to eat at 3:30 pm.. Duh, reminder call came in and oh yeah.

Procrastination is epidemic. Most people I know do it. I used to be sort of on top of everything but always felt behind. My brother is the only person I know who does not have it. He is mr. right now everything. Go figure.

Liz your social schedule sounds so fun but also exhausting. Don't know how you manage but enjoy it. I love hearing about it.

Christmas is upon us. I am planning a way to handle it with minimal effort. There is a nursery/garden store that has all kinds of cute garden stuff and I will hit that place for sure.

I must come up with a better eating plan. If I am not going to cook any more so be it, but I at least need to pick up healthy deli food. I did get a chicken pot pie at a deli the other day. You can tell they are home made as the spices and salt vary from week to week. This one was really good.

Thats about it. Cheers all. Hug those pups, Peps.

About 2.25" of rain. So welcome! But we never got out of the 40s. That's like the Arctic to coastal Southern Californians...

Not much to report. I haven't wanted to do much lately. Must snap out of that. My eating is still really carb heavy. Carbs beget carbs!

Wish everyone (and DD's toe) well!

Hi everyone. So I walked around for 2 weeks with a broken toe/foot. Why is it so hard to go ahead and take care of ourselves? Like I'm making a fuss, like I'm bothering the doctor? Anyhow, feeling a great deal of relief wearing the "fracture shoe".

We went to see West Side Story tonight. I loved it! I'm curious to hear what you all will think when you see it? Devon, you performed this musical correct? When I was in high school I was a wife in the King and I, and 40 some years later I still have many opinions whenever I see it staged.

Chili in the fridge for lunch tomorrow.
