Two more full days with the sisters. And one month until Hawaii. I guess my goal of being down 10 pounds before that is unlikely to be achieved. But I will do my best to at least stay level through the holidays which I am usually able to do without too much difficulty.

Today was going to be beach, BBQ at home, and the Patriots football game tonight. I am not sure the beach will make sense given the forecast, but who knows.

I do need to spend some time on creating packing lists for Hawaii and Arizona as I probably have to pack for both segments at the same time. And I only want to bring home what I need for Hawaii from here as I can leave everything else for our Florida return in March. I also need to send my Christmas gifts to my great nephews as I don't want to bring them home on the plane. Lots to do in the next 10 days until we fly north.

Have a safe and healthy Monday!

Weight is in the mid range of my 3 pound swing. All is well. My eating was less than optimal yesterday though. Not enough fruits and veggies again. Need to really work on making sure I at least get 2 servings of fruit early in the day. I function much better when I get those complex carbs early in the day.

I was thinking to myself this morning that Liz's schedule is too hectic for me. Yet I realize, too, that my schedule would be a lot for some people. I guess we all thrive under different stressful conditions. I remain impressed by anyone who can begin to think about packing for a trip that is more than a month away! That is so not part of my natural skill set!

Today one of my self appointed tasks is to create a list of foods I enjoy eating that are also healthy for me and would be appropriate for a weight loss. I'm thinking of breaking them down into macro lists and also included will be a list of foods I "can't live without" even during weight loss. Will be interesting to see where this process takes me.

Liza is having some kind of issue with puppy feeding. Not sure what is going on with her. I will do puppy nails tonight to see if that helps, but I don't think that's the issue. I think mama is just being a bit of a prima donna. I had to put my foot down with her this morning and insist she nurse the pups. I don't really need that BS from a mama dog who has plenty of milk and hungry pups. She was not happy with me, but she did as she was told.

Grooming one of my geriatric Cairn Terrier clients today after school. I have been trimming him since he was a wee pup. He's almost 15.

Pretty much a normal Monday for me..... Next.....

I'm not sure about that, to be honest. I do know that hormones have to kick in for the maternal instinct to be triggered. She has all the instincts, that's for sure. Her follow through is lacking! Once I got her settled and in the groove she stayed with them until they had full bellies and fell asleep.

Good Morning All

Everyone has just left to go onsite at various jobs. I have been here since 6.20am. I brought one of the young guys in so I could help him with some paperwork as he is moving to SA to live with family. Its all submitted so fingers crossed for quick processing.

Had a lovely surprise, the youngest employee (our first female tech) brought me in my favourite block of chocolate. Super sweet of her.

Not much else to report. I worked 12 hours yesterday, came home and ate dinner, did chores and helped my son with some job applications and curled up at a semi reasonable hour. Was another early start this morning and I have a meeting with the financial planner at 4pm this afternoon so will leave around 2.30pm. Need to get some planting done once I get home from the meeting but we have an easy dinner planned. I pulled out soup last night - so soup n toast it is.

Liz - Sounds like you have a lot of planning and organising to do before your trips. Enjoy the remaining time with Mikes sisters

Well I had best get myself moving - have so much to get done today before I leave for my meeting

Have a wonderful day/evening all

It was hair coloring day, which always makes me feel better. I think I'm going to grow my hair out and see what it looks like long. It's never been much longer than it is now my whole life. Why not give it a go at nearly 50? I can always cut it.

Not much else to report. I could be eating better, but lapsing in and out of sort of depression doesn't help. While extreme stress makes me not want to eat, the blues makes me hoover up everything I can get my hands on.

Hugs to all!

I have been playing with the idea of growing my hair somewhat too but I just can't envision what style. I have a lot of very fine hair that tends to bend in different directions when it gets longer. So I can't go much longer than a bob because my hair breaks after that (because it is so fine), but it doesn't like to be smooth and straight as it gets longer than it is now (so a typical bob doesn't work well). Then there is the growing out stage... I hate that. Sigh.
