Today would have been MIL's 102nd birthday (she lived to 97). I am hoping for 20 more good years, then some quiet ones. But what will be will be.
Yes, Mike is a very kind, good man. I appreciate him more every day. I think it is the same with him. Apparently his kids only met the former girlfriend a couple of times and really disliked her a lot, especially Mike's younger daughter. I get along fine with her (and the rest of the family) so that's interesting. I guess my small ***** of jealousy is because she is much younger than I am with a very pretty face. But though I shouldn't notice, she is a lot heavier (wink, wink).
Time to turn over and tan my back. Have a safe and healthy Friday!

Feeling lazy lately. I need to get back to walking daily. Knowing how much it helps me feel better physically and mentally, you'd think I'd be fired up to do it, but I'm not! Don't you wish we could be like dogs? They see the leash come out or hear "walk" and they're bouncing off the walls and spinning and squealing with excitement. I wish I felt that way...
Justice starts flying around the house in excitement as soon as he sees sneakers coming out in the morning.

I am very much in a routine right now. Dogs are all well. Puppies are gaining weight as they should. Work is same old, same old. My eating and weight issues are ever present and part of my daily life.
I don't really have much to report since yesterday. I had a great workout, but don't anticipate any soreness from it. It was more of a sculpting workout. Though, sometimes those workouts sneak up on me in the 24-48 hour post workout window. We'll see...
Food was pretty on track yesterday and I peed twice during the night, so I was disappointed to see no drop on the scale. Having my sleep interrupted twice to pee should be REWARDED on the scale! It's the least one would expect for having interrupted sleep and two looooong pees! Right?
We have our staff holiday party tonight. I should go and make an appearance. The problem is I am torn. I want to go and I don't want to go! Stuck on the fence feeling 6 of one and a half dozen of the other! I'll probably go and enjoy myself... I am simply not very motivated to get nicely dressed, provide a dish for the potluck, or drive the 45 minutes to my colleague's house.
I am looking forward to the weekend though! It will be nice to sleep in a little and I have a haircut on the books for tomorrow.
I was actually hoping for a holiday party here before we leave in 2 weeks but all Christmas festivities are after that. I must admit that I am surprised as they had it in the first half of December at my other place to accommodate people going home for Christmas.
But with all the company I don't know when we would fit it in. We are already talking about staying put here longer next year so we won't have so much activity crowded together.

Yes, having company in Florida is pretty common for those of us who are retired. It was all a bit closer together this year due to our travels in January to March. DH and I actually had less company than many others in the past and probably Mike too. But when you add it together along with my friends being curious about my new living quarters and it becomes a lot.

When my brother in law's job transferred to Garden Grove, CA, one had to make reservations well ahead to visit. His wife has 6 siblings, there are 4 in DD's family. We ALL visited the first year they lived there. I mean everyone was happy when they moved back to Minnesota, but still...it was sad to lose our free housing somewhere warm :)
Good Morning from the farm. Early start as neighbours are coming at 7am to borrow our tractor & rotary hoe. DH has run into town to fill the fuel containers as we are mowing this morning. Afternoon tea will be over at BIL. Then dinner at the RSL with DH ex army mates. Im blessed to consider one of the wives a very good friend & looking forward to seeing her.
Its foggy here but the sun is up & will burn it off soon. The grass needs a good mow after 2 weeks. Need to keep it very short for snake visability. We left the dogs n chooks home this time and utilised the space to bring up lots of trees etc. We will do some planting over Christmas/New Year break. Ive been lucky to get the days inbetween off so am on leave from late 12/24 till 1/4 - Bliss. Though that being said we normally have a lot of the family come stay. It can be chaos.
Well i had best finish my cuppa & get moving. The lawns aint going to mow themselves
Have a wonderful evening all x
