VSG Maintenance Group

It is December already! We are only here in the south for 15 more days. It always makes me sad when the leaving date approaches even though I am looking forward to the next "chapter".
Mike's sisters arrived safely yesterday and we went to the beach club where all family members (not me) took a nap next to the pool. Today we may go to tthe beach club again or alternatively I will take the sisters shopping (Mike has his last golf league game).
Time to get dressed and take Justice for a walk after I drop Mike off for golf. Have a safe and healthy Wednesday!

The carb monster left his mark on the scale this morning!!! Up a good 2 pounds. Makes sense to me. Inflammation from carbs, a super salty dinner and a heavy duty workout. So, get this: I was doing flat bench chest presses with 75 pound dumb bells. On my 4th set I whipped out 24 reps! I need to up my weight, but we don't have heavier in the garage gym! Sigh....
I had a total diner craving last night and made hamburgers with grilled onions and brown gravy. I guess that's a version of Salisbury Steak. It was magnificently tasty. I'm glad I made an extra patty for lunch today! LOL!
Pups are all over a pound now. That always makes me happy. 6 are a week old today. #7 will be a week old tomorrow. Funny to have a full day between the first 6 and #7. Just two more weeks of neonatal stage and then I can breathe a little easier.
Getting things off my chest seems to have had a positive impact. What I have come to understand is that I deserve much more than for what I have settled. The difficulty, as I've said before, is that I am changing the rules. That puts the onus on me to present my case in a kind and sympathetic fashion, yet be firm in my conviction that behavior must change. Only time will tell how this plays out.
Happy Hump Day!
Greetings all
House got cleaned today. Not by me. That always makes me happy. I used to feel sort of guilty sitting around drinking coffee while someone else cleans but not any more. We have a nice person who loves our dogs and enjoyed our puppies.
Studio time today to glaze stuff for Christmas. No rush. Then I think I will order a pizza. Maybe I will cook again but not today.
Watching a new series called The Stranger. Pretty good mystery. Last two episodes tonight.
Its a sunny calm crisp day here. Just what I like.
Peps you are going to have to add to those weights. I could not lift 75 lbs with both hands and both feet. Good on you. And yeah, two more weeks until those pups eat mush and get highly mobile. Then the fun begins. I think I told you we got a call from the water place telling us about high usage when we had those pups and flushed puppy turds 10 times a day. They thought that was funny.
Good to see Diane O is safe and content.
Carbs, yes it is the season of the carbs. I am actually considering making christmas cookies. For years I have kept no flour or sugar in the house but that hasn't prevented weight gain.
Crap it cant be almost christmas. I have done nothing. Not even thought about it. Guess its christmas ornaments all around from the art gallery. Or maybe I do my shopping at the wine tasting room.
cheers all. Diane S
Another after school gathering of the tabletop gaming club. One young man brought a new member, A girl that I think he likes. He was so courtly, asking her if she felt comfortable, inquiring about how she was getting home. So sweet.
Peps, it does shake things up when you change the rules. But change they must, we all evolve, as do our needs.
Diane darn right you shouldn't feel guilty paying for a cleaner to come in. You're a job creator, helping to keep the economy going.
CC, something is happening here too that's disrupting our sleep. All 3 of us in this house had insomnia Monday evening. Hope you get back into your rhythm.
Liz, more busy days for you! I'd probably end up napping by the pool too.
DD got her booster last night, and she is really not feeling well today with body aches and chills. It's no consolation when you feel crappy to hear, well this means its working. Ill keep that thought to myself.
I don't know if I'm doing so great with food, but I am finding that the fair life protein shakes are making a decent snack. I do feel better on the days I drink them.
Good Morning All, 2 more days of the working week to go. The weeks just go past in a blur.
I have a breast screen apt tonight - not looking forward to it but necessary evil with my family history. So that will mean I am home at a decent hour. I finished getting the snacks to make up baskets for the inlaws christmas presents on the way home. I have teamed them with a lovely Costco picnic rug. I find the hardest thing is working out what to get everyone. Im very excited about DH present. I have ordered a hand crafted Jarrah Medal Boxes - its been engraved with his service badges and service history. I have actually ordered 2 as he is leaving his medals to both of his kids. One gets the big medals and the other the small set. I plan on having a replica made of the missing ones for each child so they have a full set. That way Im ensuring that they have a lovely commemorative box to safely house them and pass onto future generations. I have one more gift to pick up for DH and Im done. Its all wrapped and by the fireplace.
Busy socialising weekend. We are heading to the farm, Saturday will be afternoon tea with BIL and his GF, Dinner is with DH Army mates at the local RSL. Sunday is lunch for Neighbour Watch group then afternoon tea at one of our neighbours. I need to make a batch of scones before lunch Sunday so I can take them. Then it will be a late drive home to the city and start a new week.
Thats really all I have. Love reading what you have all been up too. Take care all
