I hope Shel's family is doing okay. Like you, I have thought of her a lot especially through Covid. In the spring I was remembering the effort she put into her daughter's graduation party even though she was so tired. She left a lasting memory with us all. So many times with Covid I wished she was here to give us insight on viruses and vaccines, while the media have been confusing us so much. The photo she took below always brings her presence.

I was up at 6 am this morning to have enough coffee, bathroom and wake up time before we leave to pick Mike's sisters up at the airport. It was interesting to spend a week with his children and ex, but I imagine this will be a bit different. I have met the sisters several times for dinners and we get along well but this will be 8 days of being together. I will definitely need a 3 month vacation after the New Year, LOL.

Yesterday was productive. Got some things off my chest that needed saying. Gave Ron a desperately needed haircut. Tended to pups and mama dog. Installed a new baby gate in the hallway to keep the non mama dogs away from the puppy room door. Did some cleaning and mail sorting.

My BFF often teases me about getting free stuff. Happened again. I ordered the baby gate the other day. It arrived yesterday in a shipping box set package. So, not just one baby gate, but 3 were in the box! Ding, ding, ding..... Winner, winner, chicken dinner. If the company from whom I ordered the gate was a small business, I'd send the extras back. But I think Bezoz can handle a little product loss. So much for animated robotic order filling efficiency! I can use the extras and will put them to good use in the future! C, you might need one when your new puppy materializes.

Back at school and my eating increased. I really have to examine that. Today one of our retired teachers brought in baked goodies as a thank you for a "vacation" donation we gave her and her new husband for their Hawaiian getaway. I ate way more than I needed. Something clicked and all moderation flew out the window. Not a full on binge, but unbridled eating beyond moderation. In total 6 pieces (2 inch squares give or take) of baked goods were consumed. Sigh....

One of the third grade girls is trying to start a trend of Tutu Tuesdays. Kind of cute seeing so many of the girls wearing Tutus on Tuesdays and some of the adult ladies joining in to make the student feel special. I'm tempted to get a tutu and put it on one week just for fun!

A plethora of baby gates! They really come in handy with dogs. Couldn't have happened to a better customer!

I had that happen with a sleep mask I ordered from Amazon - they send me the shelf box of 5 rather than just 1. I lose them somehow (Like socks in the dryer) so they are all gone...

Oh please, oh please get a tutu for tutu Tuesdays. This delights me on so many levels!

Peps tutu musings cheered me up. Today was a very unsettling day.

1. There is a group of armed men moving about the state of Minnesota, attending school board meetings. They came to ours last night. They can't go into the actual meeting room, but they mill about outside, intimidating and making people uncomfortable, with their guns visible. What is happening??!!!
2. We have a group of students called SAGE. Straights and Gays for Equality. We have lots of clubs. Book clubs, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Baking Club, Table Top Gaming Club etc. Probably 30-40 clubs, and that doesn't include athletic teams and fine arts programs. Lots and lots of ways for students to connect to school and find their tribe. Someone took a picture of a SAGE flyer and posted it to a parent group on Facebook. The advisor started getting looneytoon and even very vile emails. Then this group, A group of parents mind you, started posting the names of STUDENTS who belonged to this club, basically outing them without consent. Outrageous! These.are.children. not your political opponents. This just happened today. I don't know if any privacy laws or harassment laws have been broken. We'll see.

I will say the sheer horror I feel at adults, PARENTS, bullying CHILDREN, has me less concerned about the weight gain I faced this morning on the scale. So there's that. And the image of Peps delighted students if he wore a tutu, that's something sweet to ponder... Pictures if it happens :)

And now I just read about another school shooting, 3 dead, many wounded. When will this insanity stop?

DD, when will it stop???? What happened to goodness and morality?
