I'm not sure what we will be up to to today, but I know it will not involve any Black Friday shopping in person. Maybe some cyber shopping. I haven't bought many presents yet, but I'm feeling accomplished because I know what I am going to buy for a few people.

Lots of leftovers here, and one more Thanksgiving on Sunday with my husband's side of the family. I'm thankful for my sleeve that slows me down when faced with all these food choices.

The crew here all depart by 4 this afternoon. Mike and I will stay until tomorrow morning then drive back to his place. It has been fun but exhausting. I missed DH's turkey stuffing, our squash casserole and SIL's stuffed potatoes. But I haven't really had that kind of Thanksgiving since perhaps 2013. Interesting how differently every family does holidays. Regardless it was a good time snd I felt very comfortable. Once again I thanked my VSG for keeping my portions in check.

I laughed about Mike telling me that I better not dress up - tee-shirts and shorts were the dress code. True for the men but the girls were dressed up. LOL - He has said the same about Christmas at his daughter's home but I know what to do now!

No Black Friday shopping for me either. We will straighten up once everyone is gone and probably eat leftovers. I fear that we will be throwing out a lot of excess food but we really won't want the snacky stuff if left behind.

Have a safe and healthy Friday!

Greetings All

Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving. I did not. Late morning I got sick and spent much of the day in the potty. Sent Michael to our friends for dinner but I stayed home and binge watched Forensic Files. Not sure what made me sick but the only thing I ate that DH didn't was the chicken liver pate. So I did not send that over and will toss it. I actually think it was not that which made me sick but why risk it.

So glad all had a better time. Peps I saw you had a puppy emergency. Hope that all works out.

The good news is that I still have the pumpkin pie and now can eat it for breakfast. Or lunch. No shopping around here though I will check on line and see if the galleries are having black Friday success. So glad I don't have to work.

Our team plays soon. It would be nice if they would win one,

TeeHee liz, shorts and t shirts as dress up. Oh well, sounds like you all had fun.

Crap I cant believe I have been seeing Christmas adds on tv. Humbug.

Off to look for pie.

Liza has 7 wonderful, strong, vigorous pups! We also had one little "angle pup". This little pup was one of the last two that were born by c section. A bit small, had a deformity, and was not clinging to life. The vet asked permission to "help it along". I, of course, agreed. No reason to prolong it.

So, Thanksgiving was very different this year. LOL! But you know me, I wouldn't have changed it in anyway, because puppies come first! There will be more Thanksgivings (God willing), but birth is birth and does not adhere to a holiday schedule!

My Thanksgiving dinner was delivered by both my brother and by Ron. My BFF and I heated up plates and had a great dinner with a slice of pumpkin pie about an hour later. I did not finish my plate, but after the pumpkin pie, I did have a bit of the slimies. OOPS!

Interesting observation: Since I have returned back to school this year, I gain weight throughout the week and lose on the weekends. I got on the scale this morning and am down roughly 4 pounds since last Friday. I'm noticing, too, that my natural eating inclination is a type of intermittent fasting. I like to eat 2 meals per day with a few snacks. It's after 12 noon and I haven't eaten yet and am not particularly hungry.

Speaking of how different families celebrate Thanksgiving, Ron's sister's husband's family is Italian. EVERY holiday dinner includes ravioli and home baked Focaccia. I always have a little. Yesterday I realized how NOT in sync the raviolis were with the rest of the more traditional meal. They tasted out of place. Yet, I still love this addition to Ron's family's holiday feasts.

Happy belated Thanksgiving to all.

NO BLACK FRIDAY SHOPPING HERE! YUCK!

I hate shopping! In person Black Friday sounds awful. I've never done it, but ordered some pants I wanted online as they were 20% off.

Yesterday was mostly very nice. A little drama around dinner time left me with little appetite (neighbors called to ask if I'd spoken to MI guy as he was supposed to go to thanksgiving dinner with them, but never showed and hadn't been in touch in days. Given some history of his I don't get into here, we agreed they would go check on him. He was fine, but asleep). Then I ate half a pumpkin pie.

Today he asked me to join him on a walk. So weird, like nothing happened. He is NOT dating material - too unstable. But maybe we could be friends if he can handle that. The town is too small and we have too many people in common for awkwardness. The walk was nice, but free of discussion of what had happened.

I'm looking forward to leftovers as I didn't taste much last night. We got snow yesterday and everything is really icy today. But pretty! I so did not pack the right footwear...

MI guy definitely doesn't sound too stable. Good thing you will be away from him for a while, so maybe he can cool off.
