Not only is it Thanksgiving but it is exactly one month until Christmas. Time really does fly.

My baking is done so the kitchen is clear for turkey and other food preparation. There are now 11 of us here, 8 in Mike's family, 2 family friends and me. Good thing the outside table is large!

Not too much snacking happened yesterday and dinner was a salad with grilled chicken on it so yesterday was pretty good vacation food wise. Today we will eat at close to a normal dinner time so though there will be some consumption of foods not all that healthy at least it won't be at a time of day which allows leftovers to reappear later. The crew will all leave throughout the day tomorrow except Mike and me. Most of them are leaving at 4 so they can eat some of the leftovers and take sandwiches with them for the trip home.

Have a safe, healthy and happy Thanksgiving Day (for those in the US)!

Happy Thanksgiving! It was a pretty day here yesterday and 50 degrees. But it's raining now and this afternoon there's a 70% chance of snow, which is kind of fun for a Californian. Hmm, but I probably should move my car into the garage before it freezes...

I'm all ready for cooking. I have a tried and true series of apple phone alarms set with descriptions of what needs to be done when. It takes all the stress out for me. I make all my mom's recipes so it's a good day for honoring her too.

I'm trying not to dwell on the MI guy situation. I think it's the peacemaker/people pleaser in me that wants to take on blame that isn't mine just to smooth things over and make the ick go away, but that isn't my job and a large part of me knows this isn't on me. So I'm trying to make peace with the ick instead. One of my friends has been a font of wisdom and really helped me quite a bit to process what was happening. So I'm thankful for good wise friends!

And I'm thankful for all of you for sharing and listening and supporting and understanding day in and day out and for Liz for being the one to start us off most days. I think you're all a big factor in any success I've had on this journey. So thank you!!

I love that you can honor your Mom today while cooking. Enjoy those memories!

Greetings all

Have a great day and enjoy dinner and company! No guilt eating day for all.

A friend showed up yesterday with a pumpkin pie made from home cooked pumpkin. I am tempted to not take it to my friends for dinner today and just eat it for breakfast for a week. Meanwhile I have made chicken liver pate and cheese crisps. I get off easy. Someone else cooks the other stuff.

Yay Peps, 8 little turkeys for thanksgiving. And blessings on the day puppies. Enjoy.

Smart move CC to time everything on your smart phone. Thats the hardest part of a holiday dinner - timing.. Crazy Pat used to get the turkey out all done and then decide it was time to peel potatoes. Used to drive me nuts. Everything was hard and cold. Ick.

Liz, sounds like a fun house full. Enjoy.

DD get a cleaning service. Your mental health will improve. Cleaning sucks.

Gallery duty yesterday. Near the end of the day I managed to blow up the point of sale system. Credit cards didn't work so I tried to reboot it. Made it worse. Another member came to the rescue thankfully. It would have been horrible to come to black friday with no credit card system.

Thats about it. Off to dinner at 2 with all of our geriatric friends, self included.
