We are here in Siesta Key after being on the road for 6 hours yesterday driving to the airport and then here. But Mike's family was also sleep deprived since they were up at 4 am to get to the airport in Boston for their flight. We did go out to dinner fairly early and the kids had a great time in the pool afterwards. I sat with my feet in it and ended up with a wet bottom, LOL.

Here is the view from the house to where we hung out last night and I drank my coffee this morning. Today will be walking on the beach and maybe sitting depending on shower activity as it is a bit cloudy here.

Have a safe and healthy Sunday!

That's a wonderful place to have your coffee!! Hope its a wonderful week. I've never been to Seista Key, but it gets so many great reviews, I need to see it.

I had a solid night's sleep. Time to get up and read the paper and get at a few chores, the big one being grocery shopping. Our plan is to see the new movie, Belfast once DH gets home from work.

It is beautiful here with lots of good but laid back places to eat. The sand is like powdered sugar.

Finished reading the Sunday paper, and Covid is crazy here in Minnesota. Like most places, we have a urban/rural divide on many social issues, whi*****ludes how people feel about vaccination. In some metro areas, the rate is over 70%, in some rural counties it is under 40%. Covid is going wild, and in one of our counties, the infection rate is the hot spot of the nation. It's disconcerting that the emergency rooms are so full, and a little scary.

I'm leaving soon to go grocery shopping. Why I love NFL football: The Vikings are playing the Packers which means way less traffic in the stores. The game started at 12pm, so everyone should be home now, so off I go! :)

Greetings All

OH ate my post from yesterday and I have already forgotten what I wrote. Must have been underwhelming. Something about CC needing lots of socks for snowy weather.

Not much new but its sunny and calm. Even though we are PAC northwest it does not rain every day in the winter here and we get these wonderful crisp days. Our neighbor was out yesterday vacuuming his yard leaf by leaf. Their whole front yard is only about 20 feet square so why bother.

I got Poppy out for a little walk yesterday. Still have somewhat of a sore ankle. But Poppy loved playing with the little kids she met yesterday. One girl proudly told me she had a little sister named "Lumina" who could not talk yet. What a name for a kid.

My plan was to make chicken soup yesterday and I had the veggies for it but somehow it didn't happen. We were watching our team lose again in yet another heartbreaker.

So If I can get the chicken soup made we will have a healthy meal for a few days. The health food store has been devoid of the pot pies for awhile.

Thats about it. Hope to clean up a little junk and get Poppy out on a leash more. She was really wired last night and needs more exercise.

Yeah DD vaccination rates here are not what they should be - 59% and for the life of me I don't get it. You can get one anywhere. We are in for a bad winter.

Thats it. Diane S

Weight 185. Hanging steady. I had to say it to a stranger for the minuscule plane I took to our small town yesterday. Happy to have a weight I wasn't terrified to share. But I also wanted to tell them I was wearing size 8 jeans to balance out the number. I held that back.

On Friday, I get a call from MI guy as I'm packing. It becomes clear he's had too many beers. He goes on to tell me he told everyone at the bar (in a town of 400) that I'm his girlfriend. I didn't know what to say. It felt so disappointing and frankly icky when you consider all being someone's girlfriend implies and that he's never told me he has even an iota of feelings for me. So it's a laundry list of disappointment, one that he'd lie to a bunch of people about me, two he did it in a town where news travels like wildfire, three he can't talk to me about how he feels but can tell a Friday night full bar of people, four that he drinks too much, and five the immaturity level of doing such a thing is down around middle school.

I didn't want to talk about it Friday as I didn't think it was fair to either of us given his state. But yesterday I said we needed to talk when I got here. He said he hoped I would just forget it and that he didn't want to talk about it, then downplayed what had occurred saying he made it sound more dramatic than it was. I said it was important to talk about it and he agreed to go for a walk with me today. Of course the weather sucks, so he canceled and didn't offer any indoor alternatives for our talk. Lots of light texts today. So I'm done. He's told me what I needed to know. We can be friends because anything else would be awkward in this small place. So that's the type of man I attract. And even that's only at 10 year intervals...

Anyway, I'm not eating my way through the disappointment so that's good! Did my shopping for Thanksgiving today. Lots of "limit 2" stuff and empty shelves at the store.

Take care everybody!

I think (don't know) that MI guy didn't lie from his perspective. I think from what you have said previously that he doesn't totally understand relationships. He wants you to be his girlfriend so in his mind he thinks of you that way. So he said you were. I think maybe it wasn't a totally bad thing?

I just reread your post. He certainly sounds very immature so I can understand why you would want to back off from a potential relationship.

He's such a nice guy, I just don't know what he was thinking. I hope it was just alcohol induced, but I have no way of knowing.

Good Morning All

Back at work - why do the weekends just fly by !!!! Never enough hours and too much to do.

Got back from the farm mid afternoon and worked around the city house. Harvested a bed of beetroots and 2 potatos plus the last of the broad beans - they are now blanched and in the freezer. Will pop a picture in TT

DH has returned to the office in the city. He didnt enjoy the 4.45am wake up this morning. Its going to take adjusting. We are due to hit 90% vaccinated tommorrow and everything has opened up. No density limits etc but still masks in some environments - retail etc etc. I can live with that.

Busy week - still catching up on appointments. This week is self care week with cut & colour, waxing & pedi and taking my new glasses back as the multi area focals are a big NO from me. Made me feel ill with vertigo type symptoms and I dont want that. They come with a warranty so I should be able to get them changed.

Liz - I would be camped out by that pool lots - it looks beautiful

DD - Hope you continued to have a good day and enjoyed the movie with DH when he got home

Diane S - Poppy sounds like a gorgeous girl :)

Cec - What the ! I feel for you. I know how private you are and that would have been your complete worst nightmare....... HUGS

Hello to all that follow. I had best get my butt into gear. The dogs are home alone today for the first time in a long time. Im praying they dont bark too much..... DS moves in with us tommorrow but hes on early training all week so we are just going to have to see how it goes

Keep smiling all
