We had a good day with our friends yesterday. Today the wife is only working a half-day and we will go to the beach club for lunch and beaching. The guys are going to play golf this morning and I am getting my hair highlighted/cut. I am fearful of the cost here...

I just cut my finger instead of the bagel. Crud - that's what happens when I am hurrying. Time to leave for the haircut.

Have a safe and healthy Tuesday!

Ouch, Liz!! Apparently bagel and avocado cuts account for a big number of emergency room visits...

I went to my friend's last night to debrief her first post separation after 22 years of being with her husband Starbucks date. We laughed ourselves hoarse!

Today is my CT Scan, but nothing else planned. Why is it when I can eat, I'm not hungry, but when they tell me I can't eat for my 11 am appointment, it's all I want to do?? My brain is wired funny.

That's allI have except now I want a bagel...

Sorry about the finger. Never fun to slice one's self up!

CC, if it is indeed diverticulitis, you are going to have to really change your eating style. What will that do to your brain? You'll have to give up things like strawberries, ground mustards, cracked pepper, etc... Such a *****! I'm hoping it's something else, honestly. Not a disease with which I'd like to live. Of course, I can think of far worse, too....

Not much here. Just doing what I can to make it to the next day! LOL!

My doctor said no, that the seed/nut thinking is now considered antiquated thankfully! He said focusing on getting a lot of fiber from fruits and veggies and whole grains and hydration is the best approach. Areas I could do a lot better in so changes, yes, but not painful ones.

Finished my CT. That contrast IV stuff feels so weird... makes it feel like you're wetting your pants! I should hear by the end of today.

Liz, hope its just a bandaid type cut. One of my friends had to have surgery due to an avocado cutting accident. Be safe out there everyone!

I've had that weird sensation with contrast too. Medical procedures are so much fun!

Speaking of medical procedures I've dutifully scheduled a colonoscopy. Its still a ways off because they didn't have many openings that coordinated with DHs days off.

Today was the kind of day I logged into my Teacher Retirement Account to see estimates if I retired at 62. Still much better to wait until I'm 64, darn it.

Food is feeling under control today. I do think protein shakes for snacks is helping me feel more satiated. Ill keep plugging along here. :)

Good Morning Tribe :)

Popping in - Hump Day here and its a long one

Had a tough weekend up at the farm last weekend. We had one of our girls go down, called out the emergency vet suspecting possible bowel issues. We all got a surprise to find she was in labour with a prem calf. It had died in Utero at 6 mths and had to be pulled. Vet did everything for mum but we lost her on Monday morning. This is the hard part of farming and upsets me when I think of how she must have felt. She was given an epidural and lots of pain relief but its still just awful. RIP Mikaela.

Our weather has been crazy - insane amount of rain and wind and HAIL - seriously dont know what next. Its making scheduling difficult as the grounds are so wet - we will likely get machinery bogged and just end up making a massive mess. Juggling a little but today is shaping up to be a sunny one - that should help dry things out.

We are due to reach 90% double vax on Monday and this will mean we only have to wear masks on public transport, in nursing homes and other areas deemed to be high risk. Its so lovely to be able to move around without restriction. We are catching up on appointments - like many. Something on each afternoon after we finish work. DH will go back into the office next week for the first time in months - will be interesting and a big adjustment.

Liz - OUCH re the finger. Hope it heals fast for you

CC - Oh you poor thing. My mum suffers from Diverticulitis and its awful. Her GP has taken her off a lot of foods etc - so I would be interested to research more of what you are being told as far as treatment. I know mum misses berries and tomatos terribly. I hollow out the cherry tomatos for her and place in a seperate bowl when we have salads

DD- Bummer re retirement not being as close as you wanted :(

Love to all that follow- I had best keep working - lots to achieve

I've assisted at many calf pullings, and it can be very traumatic, but doubly so when calf and Mom don't survive :( Sorry your girl suffered so. You did the very best you could for her.

So sorry about Mikaela.

Glad that you can move around more though. What a relief after being locked down so long!
