Only a 2 day insomnia bout this time - I slept heavily last night and feel good this morning.
Today would have been DH's 69th birthday. This weekend was the 2 year anniversary of the last birthday party DS organized which I think DS knew would be the last one. I was against having it at first thinking it would be too much for DH. It was a difficult day for him, but a number of his friends who hadn't seen him for a while were able to come and really appreciated that opportunity.
Our friends arrived right before dinner last night so we went to the local brewery and split a pizza. So not too expensive and we ended up with a free pizza to go because they initially brought the wrong one. The building is an old power plant converted into a really cool atmosphere.
Today the wife will be working remotely so we will walk to the clubhouse with the husband and tour around with him during the day.
Food choices will likely be iffy a lot of the time but if I keep the snacking down usually I can get away with it.
Have a safe and healthy Monday.

Super lazy day yesterday with lots of naps and still slept really well last night. I feel much better today.
Nothing on my calendar today, just need to make some appointments and go to the grocery store. And a walk now that moving doesn't hurt...
Early morning call from MI guy while he was cleaning his office. Looking forward to seeing him next week.
Wishing you all a good Monday (Tuesday for Shirl)!
CC, are you going back to MI for Thanksgiving?
I discovered a troublesome issue for me: my iCalendars on my work laptop, home laptop and iPhone are not syncing! I now understand why I have been "forgetful" and thinking I'm losing my mind. I check my work lap top daily for appts., both work and personal. I have appointments, etc... that are not making it to the other device calendars when I put them on the device that is handy at the moment. UGH.... Explains why I have double booked, not made appointments, etc.... I feel better about my forgetfulness, but am having a darned time fixing the issue.
Blitz and I had a great weekend. Maybe some of you saw the FB post. However, my knee is paying the price! My first PT appointment is Wednesday. It's an online class, but it's a place to start.
As is the new usual, my weight is down after a show weekend. I really want to be firmly in the 250s by Christmas, so I need to eat to make that happen.
I had the most glorious eating experience I have had in absolute ages. I was gleeful! I mean I felt true, unadulterated JOY having this meal. I went to a Brazilian Steak house that served in the Gaucho style. This place was a carnivore's dream come true. Expensive, but WOW!!!! 17 different cuts of meat available to sample. The meats are carved right at the table and you get a sample of pretty much anything you want. When I realized what was going on, I ditched my salad and antipasta plate and ate only meat! HEAVEN. I must have eaten a good 6-8 oz of meat. Nothing else, just meat. I'm getting happy just typing about it! LOL!
Well, happy Monday to all. Puppies and Thanksgiving are just around the corner! Time is flying by!

I am going to MI for Thanksgiving. Christmas too probably given the broken bone situation making travel hard for the folks. MI guy tried to convince me just to stay for the time between too. I feel like if I do that, there is always a reason to stay. Christmas, my birthday, New Years, my dad's surgery and recovery, MI guy...I would rather fly in and out and make some progress here on getting my house ready to sell.
My doctor squeezed me in today. He thinks I Google diagnosed myself right with diverticulitis. (I feel like there should be some kind of prize in diagnosing yourself correctly using the internet ). He's sending me for a CT Scan to confirm and giving me antibiotics.
Peps, your meat experience sounds DELIGHTFUL!!
So this type of service, Churassco, is specific to the state I lived in Brazil, Rio Grande do Sul. It's the Texas of Brazil (or Brasil if we're using Portuguese). The cowboys are called Gauchos. If you're from this state, you are called a Gaucho or Gaucha, regardless of whether you are an actual cowboy. :) People have churrascorias in their homes and this type of excessive meat consumption is how you celebrate birthdays etc. You can go to a restaurant, but, to me, home is the best. When my husband and I went to visit my host family, my brother hosted a churassco for us. Best time ever!
Greetings all
Trip to costco this morning for the covid booster. Ran into a friend there. Seems like I often run into people I know at the costco pharmacy. We have a mutual friend who is moving back to the area after taking her ailing husband back east so he could die while near their kids. Its been a terrible ordeal for her and she mentioned they had gotten rid of all their household stuff. So she has found a cute little furnished apartment here in the little seaside town she loves. I think we are going to have a "shower" for her - like towels and kitchen basics. It would be fun to go binge shopping at bed bath and beyond.
CC have fun on your trip. Good on you for diagnosing yourself. But sorry you have that issue. Ick.
Yay Liz, free pizza.
Peps the steak house sounds so good. I remember the farmhouse restaurant you sent me to a couple of years ago. Fabulous. Dog show people know the best places. Does anyone think that wagyu beef is worth the cost? I am not sure how to cook it.
I saw some fair life protein drink at costco and got some. DD I think you said it was less terrible. Worth a try. I need to eat better (less carbs).
Take care all. Yooo Hoooo Ocean Diane, where are you?

I do like the fair life drinks better than others I've used. Yesterday I warmed it up, put a shot of espresso and made a coffee mocha. Today I blended it with ice and half a banana. But I can drink it just as it is, as long as its chilled. I'm not using it as a meal replacement, maybe more as a snack.
Is it working well in curbing your hunger?
