Reporting in from LizLand! Good question DD on when our worlds become MikeLizLand. Maybe when we get back from our travels early next year?
Diane S, I'm glad you are going to take a break from the gallery. As DD said, retirement should be relaxing not stressful.
We had a good dinner with my old friends last night. Yes, old in terms of how long I have known them (42+ years) and old in our ages. The friend who suffered the cardiac arrest this past summer is enjoying his life, but OMG he is SO THIN. He must weigh 80 pounds less than he used to and it wasn't a healthy loss. His legs are stick thin. He has very little energy so it is even more concerning than when SIL gets super thin. But he is doing regular exercise and eating well (we had fish last night). His wife who was so overwhelmed this summer was recently put on full time oxygen. Boy, it is scary to see people just 3 years older than we are in this state.
Today we are going to Siesta Key to see the sand sculptures and other friends but first I will walk with my people here and power wash the lanai.
Have a safe and healthy Saturday!

Liz, It is sobering to see the differences in how we age. My Dad is still quite vigorous, yet my younger Mom has lost most of her mobility due to crumbling bones and cancer treatment. We're dealt the hand that genetics gives us, and then we need to maximize that. I'm learning many lessons from watching the progression of my Mom's osteoporosis. You can bet I never forget to take my Fosomax or vitamin D.
CCC, makes me hear yes, yes, yes (Spanish). Maybe this is your year of yes!
We did go out last night to see the French Dispatch. I loved it so much!! I know Wes Anderson isn't everyone's cup of tea, but, wow, it was a feast of beautiful words and imagery. I also did my thing where I bought the kids pack, which is a small soda and a couple cups of popcorn. Seems silly when DH also bought a small popcorn too, which we could both easily share, but I like having my own. I like the portion control, and I like salting it to my preference (very heavy), and I like holding it in my lap, eating a couple kernels at a time. When we share, I find myself starting to keep pace with the speed of DHs consumption, and I end up eating more. Who knew there was so much to think about when buying popcorn at the movies?
Today's task is to shop for some black boots, current pairs are looking pretty sad. Tomorrow I pick daughter up at the airport, and in the evening the 3 of us go to see Oklahoma. Weekends go so fast!

Bad stomach cramps today! I have an iron stomach, so this is unusual for me. Maybe all the burger/fries from last night wreaking havoc. Still hot here.
Nice texting and a phone call from MI guy today. Just gets easier, which is nice.
Tonight I am going to my friend's house. Her soon to be ex-husband is moving out today and the kids are planning to stay with him tonight, and she thinks it would be too hard to be there alone the first night. So we're getting Chinese, watching Netflix, and talking about boys (she's signed up for Match and wants me to as well. Eek!).
Liz, it's amazing how differently people can age. Some is terrible luck, some is a use it or lose it thing. Either way it can be shocking, sad and motivating all at once.
DD, I think my favorite is The Royal Tenenbaums, followed closely by Grand Budapest Hotel. Ooh, and Rushmore... can't wait to see this one!
