Much interesting discussion yesterday about GERD and weight gain. I wish there was an affordable pill to take! I guess I do best on WW, but have to get in the right frame of mind to do it. I almost went to a meeting yesterday but got in a funk due to the rain (and my extra pound) and didn't. All the company coming over the next few weeks is NOT going to help.
So I got the information about buying copies of the pictures taken by the club. I am thinking of purchasing one for Christmas for Mike. NOT CHEAP! Has anyone had professional shots taken recently and can give me some insight into reasonable prices? These are pictures where they do touch ups. Like graduation pictures I guess.
We went out to dinner last night. As usual I didn't eat a lot, but with wine and daytime snacks I'm sure I didn't lose anything yesterday. Do I eat the leftovers today or more healthy shrimp?
Have a safe and healthy Thursday!
ETA: Happy Veterans Day! Thank you to all who served! There is a ceremony at the Veterans Memorial here today. I bet it will be very moving. Here is a picture I took there last week:

It's going to be a hot one today! 91. I have cleaned for the cleaning people and am going to have lunch with a friend. Then therapy later. Then knitting group where no one knits tonight. 185 this morning.
I love when a restaurant has the menu online. It's so much less stressful to decide what you want! I work my way through the things I want, but don't need and then through how I would feel if I picked something healthier. I usually end up with the healthier thing because I felt the need for and addressed the impulse ordering options at home. Does that make any sense?
Hope you're all well!
Yes! I always try to look at the menu ahead of time online too.

Definitely yes for previewing the menu online! One of DD's college roommate used to read random menus online for a study break. I think previewing the menu is all part of the experience, anticipation.
Today I got to do the thing that can be so rewarding about my job. I have a very sweet student who puts on a tough girl exterior. There has been a lot of pain and sorrow in her life, and school is not going well. But I've had the privilege of seeing through the cracks in the tough girl armor. Today I met with her Dad, her dean, the chemical prevention counselor and the school social worker, and we brainstormed some possible interventions. I love a team focused not on what the kid is doing wrong, but on how we can help the kid do better, and willing to try some less than traditional interventions.
Controlled eating, so far today. However much or long I'm in control, it sure is a good feeling.
How wonderful when the people in a troubled child's life can work together to help the child.

Miss Nexxi, thanks for the info on medications, very helpful to know. I'd be willing to bet that even though we might not have a diagnosis of diabetes, many people afflicted with morbid obesity have something wonky with their insulin and how their body uses it. Maybe the impact on insulin is part of what suppresses the appetite.
Is there ever a concern that non diabetics could get low blood sugar that is too low?
I was on blood pressure medication pre surgery, then I was able to stop taking it. i loved getting readings like 122/ 72. Since my regain, I'm not seeing those numbers anymore, so I started medication again this week.
