I am SO glad I am not in Massachusetts. The storm caused a mess with trees and power lines down all over the place. The power and cable companies won't even estimate how long it will take to restore everything. Essentially all of Cape Cod is without power. The generator is apparently chugging along nicely but the alarm and garage which are on battery backup are starting to chirp. My 30 year old is having a hard time dealing with it. And he wonders why I am considering selling that home.

We had a fun early appetizer/dinner with my oldest friend, her sister, brother and spouses yesterday. So great to catch up. I usually see my friend and sister (her twin) at least a couple of times a year but all has been sporadic since Covid. My friend might come stay with Mike and I for a couple of days next week as she booked being down here for a week thinking her sister was staying, but the rest are all going home Saturday. They came down for a memorial service for their step brother.

Eating was good - I had peel and eat shrimp as my appetizer with them, then a couple of bites of pork when I got home. All other food was healthy/planned so all in all I think it was a decent day food-wise. I forgot to step on the scale yesterday or this morning so I guess I will do it tomorrow.

Today is either beach or a movie depending on the weather.

Have a safe and healthy Thursday!

I'm back in CA and warm weather. It's supposed to be 90 today. I've got a bunch of health related appointments coming up starting with the dentist today, so it'll be good to get all that sorted.

Yesterday's food decisions were not good and I didn't even enjoy most of it... back to healthier choices today.

Hope you all are well!

I find eating while traveling to be a major challenge.

I end up eating whatever is put in front of me. Then after 5+ months without fast food I caved to Mexican fast food (not a lot of Mexican food in MI and I love it). And the dreaded peanut M&Ms.

Starting off today well, though.

Gotta stop looking at making a choice to eat something you crave and satisfies as a "cave". Mexican food is not in itself a poor choice. Lots of healthy eating choices available at taquerias! Even Taco Bell has been rated as one of the healthiest fast food places for people concerned about nutrition.

My cave was more about what I ordered than the fact it was a Mexican food restaurant! Del Taco cheddar quesadilla, chicken tacos and fries (decidedly not Mexican food) for the caloric "win"... At least I ordered a small and threw out most of the fries.

Yeah, I see what you mean, but again, I can think of far worse meals! LOL!

I had my initial consult with the NY divorce attorney. I absolutely LOVE him !! He has agreed to take my case, and as soon as I receive, sign and return the contract and enclose the retainer deposit, my estranged ex will be served !! The clouds are lifting !

I'm keeping track of the weather, but a southern route across the country is looking more likely. Does anyone recommend an app to map routes that interface with road closures/conditions ? I'll be starting in Vancouver BC and ending up in Syracuse NY. Eating while traveling is a challenge for me too.

As a back up to tech, apps, mapquest etc I like to get the old fashioned triptik from AAA, along with some maps. I've ended up a few places with spotty cell coverage. I also like looking at a map that has the whole route marked out (AAA can provide this too) to give me a big picture view.

You can still get the old TripTiks? I couldn't find them when we were coming here. AAA online kept sending me to their driving app which wasn't as good as google maps.
