We are definitely settling into a routine here. Today we will either beach it for a bit or do errands depending on the weather. I have always had a Walmart nearby to pick up small miscellaneous items at but it is a ways to go here and not in a great section of town. So my miscellaneous list builds up where it can't be relieved by Amazon deliveries. Which I have been getting at a rate of 1 a day on average already.

Still eating healthy but we are going to Happy Hour at the clubhouse and probably out to dinner. Tomorrow will also be out to dinner. But out twice a week is in the plan.

Have a safe and healthy Friday!

A routine will also help you get to where you want to be. And I bet when you eat out just twice a week, you probably enjoy it more.

Today was better, probably because it was Friday, and I am taking a sick day Monday to go to the doctor, and its a short week next week anyhow... I filled out the pre physical questionnaire, and I made myself check some boxes truthfully, instead just answering everything "no" and maintain the I'm fine, I'm fine persona.

My Moms 80th birthday is at the end of the month. I've been trying to find out for months how she wanted to celebrate. There are limited options, she does not feel well most days, and my brother doesn't like to be away from his house. So finally I made a plan, we'll have lunch at the only nice restaurant by their house, and if mom wakes up not feeling well, we'll get take out. Cake at my parents house afterwards. Yes, everyone is fine with this. But now the suggestions are starting, maybe instead we could ... As if I am the family administrative assistant .... I will maintain my boundaries, if they have new, better ideas, they can plan it, I'll attend. When the dust settles, there's a good chance we'll be doing what I came up with .... Anyhow, I feel good I made some decisions so there will be at least a small celebration, because it is a milestone that should be acknowledged.

My big plans for the weekend, besides the usual chores, is to pack for New Orleans. It will be the first time using my new Away carry on. It was my 60th birthday present, and the first piece of name brand luggage I've ever owned. I bought a pretty under the seat bag that coordinates with my carry on. The under the seat bag has a strap that fits over the handle, so I can maneuver easily. It is delightfully called, a trolley strap. Isn't that charming? Anyhow, I'm excited to road test them. I'm hoping they will accompany me on many, many adventures to come.

I have never had special luggage (other than a couple of practical Vera Bradley pieces). New Orleans will be so good for your psyche!

And good for you answering truthfully on the questionnaire - I hate to admit to anyone when things are feeling difficult or pulling me down.

And I hear you on the libido thing on Prozac. Who wants to give that up when we don't know how much longer it will be around? I read an essay in The NY Times about a couple in their late 80's - dating seriously, not married, but they still have a sex life. I thought that was pretty amazing.

Just an FYI my dad was complaining to my brother last night that his girlfriend has not been receptive as of late to sex. Dad is 92.

Maybe it keeps us young!!! You know the old saying: "You are as young as you feel"
