Florida warmth is so nice. The humidity definitely abated over the couple of weeks since we flew down here. It was in the mid-80's yesterday but fairly comfortable. Yesterday we took a 3 mile walk, I finished unpacking, we went to the food store, Mike got a long overdue haircut, we met with the realtor about the rental in January to March and then I cooked dinner. Whew! All while on less than 4 hours of sleep as like DD, I have had insomnia for the last 3 nights.

But we both ate on plan yesterday! We stocked up on healthy foods at the store and the dinner I made was low-carb and low-fat with a healthy amount of lean protein and veggies. I have made it many times before and always enjoy it (deconstructed pizza). I add extra tomatoes, peppers, and onions to this recipe: https://kalynskitchen.com/low-carb-deconstructed-pizza-casse role/#mv-creation-7-jtr

My body reacted to the reduced calories and healthier food by dropping some water. I always know I am starting out right when I have to pee multiple times at night LOL. I have to have some good mental incentive to get going so one reason is to be able to hike easily in Hawaii in January and another that there might be a wedding next year (DD thinks she may get a proposal soon). Every time I shift to weight loss mode I thank my VSG because I didn't gain as much as I would have without it and it is easier to cut back and not feel hungry as long as I eat right (protein first, planned small snacks).

Have a safe and healthy Tuesday!

A very short night for me. Got home from the airport well after midnight. Got to bed about 1:15-1:30 am - Not exactly sure of the time. Bit of a restless night, too. Horrible water retention from flying (should have worn the compression socks, but I hate them!) and my knee was very painful during the night. Funny how it hurts more at night than during the day. Doctor appointment this afternoon for first check on the knee. Praying for a no surgical fix! I have feeling I'm in for my first MRI because of this knee issue. We shall see....

I am feeling pretty raw about my weight. I am conflicted about which approach to take. Have lots and lots of thinking to do on this. Many tapes are rolling and it's hard to know what's what and what thoughts are eating disorder driven, etc.... Sigh.....

I am happy to be home. My own bed felt delicious!

I am not tracking and not saying "diet" for the first time ever. I am just eating the foods that worked best for me under WW a couple of years ago. I am hoping that it will have the same weight change result but feel better mentally?

Liz, it's great Mike is onboard with healthy eating, between that, and the walking, you should be in great shape for Hawaii.

Peps, if you have to do an MRI for your knee, it's not too bad at all, you go into the machine feet first, up to your waist. They give you a pillow and want you to be comfortable so you don't move. I thought it was kind of wonderful to have a moment where all I had to do was lay quietly and do nothing.

I was trying to get some work done after school, when one teacher came in to talk to me about a student I had last year, another to talk about a current student, and then the social worker to tell me one of my girls got busted on a chemical charge. Quite the party in my room. And then an email from a mainstream teacher letting me know one of my students had his hands in his pants during class, and what should he do? Can't make this stuff up.

Steak and caprese salad for dinner, so that went right :) Currently enjoying a glass of red wine while I read the paper. The evening redeems the day. Tomorrow night is conferences, the drop in kind. I prefer scheduled so I know who to expect. Could be a crazy night.
