Good morning from Pennsylvania. Blitz and I are taking the day off. He was super tired yesterday and got cranky, so I decided that today was going to be a rest day for him. Tomorrow is too important for him to be off his game. So we are kicking back in the hotel and enjoying a very leisurely morning.

Eating is okay. I am not worrying about dos and don'ts, but am eating with a conscience! So, yes, carrot cake was eaten for dessert last night at the club banquet. LOL!

Spent some time at the show with a once very close friend yesterday. It was nice and we just slipped back into our bond. We had a chance to discuss her RNY 13 years ago and any down sides that she has encountered - which are none. Not sure how I'm feeling about RNY still, but it's good to know an actual person who has had it for the long haul and is doing well.

Blitz did really, really well yesterday. He got what is called an "Award of Merit" (AOM). It's an award that indicates he was in consideration for Best of Breed. The entry has to be very large for an Award of Merit to be offered. There were two AOMs offered, and Blitz was given the first. He beat the #2 Airedale in the country yesterday, which made me pretty proud. And yes, he was by far the youngest Airedale in the Best of Breed ring.

There is much laziness of the docket for today. Maybe even some binge watching of tv.

Wow! Good for Blitz!

We will be passing by Pennsylvania in an hour or so, but continuing through Delaware and Maryland into Virginia where we stop for the night. Expected ETA there is 5:30 barring any major traffic jams.

Travel eating is happening but at least we don't snack. I have 1/2 sandwich packed for lunch though I will probably remove the top slice of bread.

Justice is traveling well as always though he was very excited to stop for 20 minutes an hour ago.

Have a safe and healthy Saturday!

Congratulations Peps. I love how your dogs are both champions, and also your beloved pets. Your concern for their well being always shines through.

Road food is an issue, right? I did a road trip several years ago with my bff, and neither of us gained any weight. When we would stop for gas etc, neither of us would buy treats, because we didn't want to tempt each other. We stuck to our picnics, and planned snacks. DH and I need to be more like this, we give in too easily sometimes.

My kitchen is semi deep cleaned, fridge cleaned out and wiped down, ready for a Costco restocking. I brought my computer home, but decided I am not going to do any school work this weekend after all. I'll stay late this coming week if needed, but I need some non working blocks of time. I immediately felt more light hearted when I made this decision. I have A LOT of housework to do, so that will fill my weekend. Its all good though, because getting things in order makes life easier overall.

The leaves are falling like crazy, but the temps stay in early September mode. I love it.

Greetings all

Not much going on today except my studio buddy is coming over to watch college football. We don't care who it is. She just likes to watch young guys in tight pants!! I like the youthful rah rah spirit and the connection to my midwestern roots.

peps Blitz is spectacular. Total competion for all the dogs in that ring. Awesome. glad you are taking a day off. A cranky show dog is not fun.

Here is my idea for a new invention: instead of a fitbit its a counter/timer that registers every time you open the refrigerator door and for how long. Kind of like golf - low score wins. It occurred to me that DH has already visited the refrigerator about 6 times before noon. Whaddaya think? Will I get rich?

We went out to lunch yesterday and I had some very gloppy eggs benedict. Wont do that any time soon. This restaurant is one that serves gigantic amounts of mediocre food. One guy in our group seems to like it and eats the entire surf board sized platter of food plus everyone else's french fries. Oh well.

Have a good trip Liz. Stay safe everyone else. One of these days I will have something exciting to report.

Love the refrigerator door timer. Maybe it could be set up to react when a preset number of openings has been exceeded???

Good Morning All

Sunday at the farm, DH is still sleeping & Im enjoying listening to the animals wake up. Today is the second anniversary of my SIL passing. We are meeting at the cemetry at 10am to remember her. Gone way too soon

Spent yesterday mowing & pottering. Spring brings quick grass growth! I was doing one side of the driveway, turned to do another pass and uncovered a 4ft2 brown snake. He had not faired well with the mower tousel! Safe to say DH got called to come & do what was needed while I stayed safely on the mower. It reinforces my rule that grass must stay short in the areas we live in up here.

We will head home after lunch, much as I truely dont want too! DH is picking up a Ram tommorrow after work & drivinb him back up for BIL. He will stay up here the week. I will be up again Friday so at least its something to look forward too.

Liz - safe travels

Peps- looks like the show has gotten off to a fabulous start. Go blitz!!!

DD- Good luck with the cleaning- never fun but rewarding once finished

Diane O - sending you peace

Cec- thinking of you lots. Hope everything is ok

Diane S- hope you are having a nice weekend

I had best get some work done. Rain has started and looking like its settling in
