My eldest DD would have turned 49 today if she were still alive. Life would have been so different for our family. Losing a child/sibling changes everything. My younger children had to finish growing up without her and with parents who were struggling to cope with the loss. If she were alive DH and I would have been grandparents a long time ago as she loved children. We bought the Cape Cod house partially to try and heal as being away from "home" was easier. So maybe I wouldn't have this home? And maybe I wouldn't have met Mike?

Strange musings.

Peps, if you can afford to get resleeved and can be comfortable with the place you are going to, then you should do it. Do the metabolic changes kick back in after a redo? I wish I had the metabolism I had for the first year post-surgery. I also wish I ate as little as I did during that time. Good luck!

Today I am looking at another condo while Mike is golfing for his last time this season. He looked at one with me yesterday. I love the condos in that area as they are just a block from the ocean and have beach rights. The units are adorable with wide pine floors and lots of cottage details, but they have almost no storage. Tiny closets and no basement. Today's condo is much more spacious and has a full basement but is not close to the beach. But it is cheaper...

Tonight we are meeting friends for dinner (and for the next 2 nights as well). I did well last night and didn't over-eat as I had oysters and sushi wrapped in cucumber instead of rice. My sleeve worked well and I couldn't finish the sushi.

Oh, and Mike is meeting the ex for dinner tomorrow night to give her the timeline on moving. She must know it is coming because he has never taken her to dinner without the kids since they split 16 years ago.

Have a safe and healthy Sunday!

Thinking about you on this hard day, Liz.

We are waiting in the ER parking lot. My dad picked up a chest infection after his procedure and his breathing doesn't sound good. Claudia called one of their doctor friends and asked if she should take him to the ER (I bet a lot of medical professionals are often tasked with giving friends "permission" to go to the ER!). He had her take his O2 saturation level with the finger meter I sent them at the beginning of Covid and it was in the low 90s so he's suggested getting him checked out. The UK gives out free boxes of Covid tests, and my friend got me a box to take home with me. I did one for my dad yesterday and it was negative and his one at the hospital this morning was negative as well. The admissions woman said they are seeing lots of bronchitis right now. Could be pneumonia too, but we'll see. Hopefully some good antibiotics and maybe a nebulizer will help him feel better? Not diminishing my anxiety levels though! So grateful for Claudia. She does so much for him and takes great care of him.

Hope you all are having better days!

Home from the hospital with a dad grousing about it being a waste of his time. He has a prescription. Some people are the worst when they're sick!

Glad the Grouch is home and grouchy! So much better than the alternative of being passive and in the hospital!

Hello all ! Caught a bit of sun today and 15,000 steps. Does that counteract Apresol Spritzes ? Tomorrow will tell ! Shared many of my steps with oldest DD. She gets that I need to look at sunnier places, although I am safe and secure here ! Sadie was a naughty girl today, and bounded upon a smaller dog to play, while both were leashed. I have never had anyone say "control your dog " before, although I deserved it. I had to let go of the leash to keep from face planting. Not a good feeling !

The rain in that part of the country can be tough. Sun is necessary for many of us to feel positive.
