Welcome to hump day (for those working). The fall cool-down is definitely here in New England. Our high today will be 60. A good day to walk Justice.

Our dinner with Mike's friends went well yesterday. We have way too many leftovers of course, but DS will be home tonight and can help with that.

Ten days until we leave for Florida. Though it seems early it will be nice to be back in the warmth. And easier to control our menu. If I could drop 10 pounds by Christmas I would be happy.

Have a safe and healthy Wednesday!

Sigh. He never texted back. Why does rejection even by a weird jerk still sting? I really need to work on my emotional resilience. I suppose if men being interested in me regularly was a normal thing, then this would just be another funny story about the guy who ghosted me because I admitted I probably couldn't shoot a turkey, but when it's 8 years between interested ones who both end up being jerks it makes me feel like I am the only common denominator and maybe I invite this element into my life. Maybe the common denominator is me being so grateful someone is interested that I overlook whether I actually like them and whether they are entirely sane.

In food/weight/exercise news, I've kept up my UK habits and am now down 9.6 pounds from when I left for England. No doubt it will slow, but it's nice to be 3.4 from where I started the summer and just 2.2 pounds from a "normal" BMI again. Still 20 over where I'd love to be, but very happy if this is where I hung out for a while.

Today I think I'll walk and I'm having coffee with the woman I met here from the same area in the UK my friend is from as she asked me to bring her some British snacks. She's nice and could be a new friend in the area.

Hope you all have good days!

He definitely isn't worth it if he is that sensitive. Good for you on the eating. I need to catch that!

He called and left a message just now, said he wasn't mad at me at all, just crazy busy with work and he'd love to have dinner sometime and talk. If you are texting someone night and day and then no response for 48 hours when they ask you to dinner not even just to say, I'm too busy, how about a rain check? Hmm.

Now is when you decide if he is interesting enough to you to meet him for dinner. If yes, despite his awkwardness, like not knowing how to respond appropriately, you would enjoy going out to dinner with him, then go. If you're "just not that into him" then you don't have to hang out with him.

It is NOT you. I hear from women of all ages about frustrating, puzzling interactions with men and women they encounter in the dating world. The only thing you've said that's true is this: you don't have to overlook anything. If a guy shows interest, but he's not ringing any bells for you, you can kindly move on.

A good book is my favorite form of self care.

Brisk morning - 53 degrees, but high will be in the low 80s. Perfect weather for my tastes!

Ceci, the term "dickwad" comes to mind. Just sayin'.... And for Heaven's sake, don't go thinking it's you. It's not.

Snuggling with a good book sure sounds nice, as does a walk on an autumn beach.

I am a broken record on the food and eating and weight loss front right now, which is okay, but I shall spare you all the musings.... LOL

I have to start thinking about what to pack for Pennsylvania. At this time in a week Blitz and I will be airborne! I discovered I will be on the same home bound flight as some close friends. I'm so grateful to have assistance at the airport. Having two people makes it so much easier with the dog and luggage.

Off to get the kids!

It's been a pretty great morning after the last few days. I was walking and got passed by a contractor's truck and didn't think anything of it until I got a huge smile and wave from the guy when I got up the house at the end of my street where he was meeting with a bunch of construction workers. I smiled and waved back (bonus, he was very good looking). 5 guys turned around to see who he was waving at and they all smiled at me. It hit me like a brick that I could do so much better than the "dickwad"!

Then I had coffee with my new friend Sally and being such a freaking small town, she slides into the conversation, sooo my husband says you know (dickwad)... I must have given a very telling yes because she proceeds to tell me he rents a small cottage from her MiL and how strange he is and that his MOTHER writes his rent checks!!!! He's a lawyer for goodness sake. I shared the turkey saga and she was like, guuuurl you dodged a bullet.

So currently I'm dancing in my living room and happily eating a turkey sandwich I didn't need to shoot. Now to figure out a good way to extricate myself from future interactions while not making things weird in a tiny town...
