You know when we complain about a sleepless night but we slept at least a couple of restless hours? Nope, none of those for me. I read ALL night because every time I tried to fall asleep I was wide awake again. And I have no idea why. I wonder how I will survive the day today.

The puppy has been quite a biter partially because she is teething. We were told to say "no bite". The words alone just didn't work. I found that holding her snout and saying it seems to have the desired effect as she usually just licks the hand afterwards and scampers off. It seemed to decrease her biting yesterday. But we shall see today.

Mike's daughter and son-in-law return late tonight so we will stay here one more night. We are watching the Patriot's football game this afternoon here on their 85 inch TV. The people on the TV are actually larger than life, LOL.

Not much else in my exhausted head. Have a safe and healthy Sunday!

Insomnia is so disruptive. Will you nap, or does that mess up your sleep further.

I didn't do much yesterday. I did do a little shopping, and found a few good deals. Nothing very exciting, more basics like black jeans, an oxford shirt, some t shirts....

I was super fatigued, and didn't know if it was just life or my vaccination. This morning I have a headache and sore throat, so I'm going with its side effects from the 3rd dose. I'll try to rest today, because I need to be at work tomorrow.

Time for chai and the paper (most likely both will take place in bed!)

I think the fatigue is the 3rd dose because I felt so tired yesterday morning and then again this morning. I could actually go back to bed without much difficulty, if the truth be known. LOL! But no headache or flu like symptoms for me, thank God! I did feel dizzy-ish several times yesterday, but I'm not sure that is a symptom side effects, but it was certainly an odd feeling.

Sounds like the shot is causing your symptoms. I did try to nap - I lay down for over an hour but sleep didn't come. Hopefully I will sleep well tonight.

Rough night with the pup. My dad's wife texted after i was already in bed asking me to come over to help. The house is raised up, so the only way in and out is stairs and Barkley couldn't walk and hadn't been outside all day to potty. Such a change as he was fine when I left on 9\1. Aggressive indeed.

I suggested we get our big gorilla cart and carry him down the stairs in that. It worked. I also suggested they all sleep in my house as the prospect of carrying him in and out of the big house in a cart seemed grueling and my house is not raised up. He had a good night and seems to be having a good morning. The last days can be so fraught with worry.

Dinner at the neighbors was great. Their girls are adorable (2 and 4). No questions about MI guy, who texted last night to invite me over to someone who I don't know's house as they were grilling and this morning to check on Barkley (his dad is a retired vet and a friend of my dad's wife's from childhood who also lives here and she had called him during the trauma of last night to see if he could help). Not gonna lie, I'm confused between the text version and the in person version of him.

Peps was right, I imagine he feels a lot like I do about social interactions. Typing is much easier.

Looking at my watch, I walked 9.1 miles yesterday. No wonder my hips hurt like the devil! Limited walking today I think.

Off to clean up and go to the store for dinner supplies.

Liz, good luck on your last puppy day and enjoy the big screen tv!

Oh, that breaks my heart to read about Barkley. Poor baby! Very nice of you to have your dad and step mom at your house for the dog. You are a good one!

And congrats on more weight loss.

PS - down another 1.4 pounds today. That's 7.8 since I left for the UK...

Oh, Liz, I am so sorry. I have not had a night like that in over 30 years! The last time for me was after a party at which my then boy friend ignored me but fawned over everyone else. He was a messed up ass, but at the time I didn't know any better!

Liz, your grasping of the snout and saying "no bite" is a much more effective technique. It's akin to the same move a mama dog does with her pups, so keep that up. It will stop the biting much more quickly than a verbal command that is meaningless without the physical cue.

Going to deliver a grooming table to a friend who is driving to the nationals so I don't have to pay to ship it in cargo on the plane. Every item shipped counts on trips like this!

Not much else since late yesterday.

Even though I don't feel super good, I was reflecting on my good fortune to now have such easy access to a 3rd dose. I just went online and clicked the appropriate boxes, and bam! appointment scheduled after work. CVS sent a text for me to click on as I entered the store, so they were already waiting for me by the time I walked back to the pharmacy.

But another thought is also dancing around in my mind. Back in 2009, H1N1 flu was just starting to crank up. I got it in May. It eventually became pneumonia, which required 3 rounds of treatment, and did not subside fully for over 2 months. I was able to drive to the doctors office, and as a treatment was wrapping up, go back to work, but then I would crash, go back to the doctor, and discover it wasn't gone. I was in my 40s, and morbidly obese. It was kind of scary, but I never needed to be hospitalized or have an antibiotic IV, which was being discussed as the next line of treatment. Luckily school ended, and I spent a good part of the first week of break in a lounge chair, next to a pool in Orlando. I really felt like the sun was baking it out of me.

Anyhow, I am again so grateful for my WLS. Imagine going through this pandemic, post cancer, susceptible to pneumonia (I've had it 3 times), 60 years old, morbidly obese, and, with no doubt, very limited mobility. (losing mobility was one of the reasons I had surgery). I feel very protected from severe illness because of the vaccine, but if I was who I was in my 40s, plus the additional years, maybe even the vaccine wouldn't be enough. Thank heavens for the changes my sleeve brought to my health. Even if I am super frustrated, and yes, sometimes sad at my inability to lose regsin, I am still so much better off with my sleeve.

Yep, so much to be grateful for with the sleeve even when our weights aren't where we'd like them to be ideally.

Growing up in sunny CA, my mom was a big proponent of baking illness out of you in the sun. I still think laying in the sun makes me feel better when I'm sick! Who knows, what with vitamin D playing a big role in the immune system, there may be something to it?
