Thursday's puppy day made I think it wouldn't be too difficult as we had her out walking on the beach for quite a while. Though we did that yesterday morning, we drove mid-day with both dogs for almost 3 hours to get back to Mike's daughter's home. The puppy is a great traveler but boy did she have energy last night. She was chewing and biting and full of the devil. Mike said this morning that now I should have an inkling of what having grandchildren is like - exhausting!
Today we are planning to go to an apple orchard (we are in that part of Massachusetts), then meeting my DD and her BF for dinner. In between we need to exercise the puppy. Justice was as tired as we were last night btw.
Have a safe and healthy Saturday!

Justice is probably thinking I did not sign up for this! If we ever got a dog again, DH would like a puppy. I don't know if I'm up for that. Our Bella was adorable, but also a handful. And I had my kids living at home to help. My son is the one who taught her most of her commands like sit, down, stay and her small repertoire of tricks. I'd like to adopt/rescue a senior dog that needs a loving home.
Not much going on today, I'll try to strike a balance between getting some things done like groceries, and some relaxation.
Last night we went to see Eyes of Tammy Faye. A more sympathetic portrayal of her than how I remember it all going down. I grew up in the Evangelical community, and while we were not part of their PLT partnership, I knew people who were. And I definitely recognized the language/theology of their type of ministry. My husband had no cultural connection to the evangelical movement, but he still enjoyed the movie.
Was the movie worth watching. I didn't pay a lot of attention when the Fayes were popular but thought they were way out there.
Justice was about 3 when we adopted him. All my previous dogs were puppies. SO MUCH EASIER with Justice.

Lots of walking today, 7.75 miles. Most on my own, some with the MI guy. He asked me to come join him at our local bar for a drink last night, but I was cooking our dinner. Today he asked if I wanted to hike. I had already walked about 6 miles, so I said a short one. We walked on the beach a bit. Honest to Pete, when we are around each other I detect ZERO interest from him other than he suggested the outing. Stilted, very small talk conversation. I think I may have met someone even more socially awkward than me! Maybe we can just be friends. I don't feel any attraction there on either side. And he's unusual. I suppose I am too, I'm just not sure I can handle all his "unusual".
Very sad news received yesterday. Barkley, my dad's dog, has aggressive bone cancer. The orthopedic vet said his leg could break at any moment. They have an appointment to put him to sleep on Monday morning. Losing two in a short span of months is entirely too many. Lots of tears here. He's such a sweet boy. Made it to 12.
Tonight I am going to dinner at the neighbor's house. They are good friends with MI guy (the husband grew up with him). Wonder if I'll learn anything or be asked any questions?
Hope you're all doing well!
So sorry about Barkley. They give so much to us but are in our lives for such a short time.
The MI guy might get more interesting when/if he thaws (he might show more which might spark your interest too). Maybe give it a bit of time?

So sorry about the boy. My best to your dad and his wife (and you!). Won't be easy, but it is the right thing to do, if he's in pain. Bone cancer is supposed to hurt like hell!
MI guy.... Awkward only signifies he likes you. You know how you do the social replay when you get home? I bet he was doing the exact same thing after your walk! LOL! I'm all for letting the friendship develop and see what happens.
Third shot - so far so good. Bad sleep night, though and odd-ish dreams almost like I was awake in bed while dreaming them. My friend who already had 3rd dose mentioned similar. My BFF reported a fitful night, too. Other than a sore injection site, no other side effects. Yay!
Today all I did was groom dogs, but that's okay. I ran out after finishing the 4th dog and got a massage while Ron was at church! That was super duper relaxing.
Just about 10 days until Blitz and I are off to Pennsylvania for the week of the nationals. I'm looking forward to it.
Had a decent session with the nutritional counselor yesterday. The reality of my situation is beginning to really sink in. I am going to have to get into a calorie deficit without feeling deprived. I think that's why I have lately been contemplating revision surgery. The nice thing about the post surgery VSG stomach is that I really never felt deprived. It wasn't until after about 18-24 months post VSG and 2 full years of all or nothing thinking and behavior that the eating disorder exploded and took full control. I have some major negotiating to do with myself. Ah, so what's new!
I am enjoying the puppy updates. Makes me realize how NOT normal I am when it comes to my beasties!
Best to all....
