So I am off to try to figure out how to distribute a check payable to DH's estate to myself as I am the Voluntary Administrator and the sole inheritor. I am hoping the bank will just let me put it directly in my account once they review the Voluntary Administration document but I won't be surprised if they make me open an estate account. And I may have to get a probate lawyer to help me figure this out. Pain in the you know what which is happening because the bank holding this unknown account wouldn't disclose enough information about it last year when I found out about it to know that probate might be required. All other assets had been transferred to me through the years of his illness or were joint so probate hadn't been necessary.

Not much else going on other than trying to not eat too much. We were pretty healthy last night and will be tonight but the rest of the week is busy.

Have a safe and healthy Tuesday!

Good morning and welcome to my new Covid Central world. Yet another modified quarantine kid in my room. Her sister has been exposed and is on home quarantine. My student has tested negative so is allowed to attend school for now. I am happy that kids will be allowed to be vaccinated soon. Still no official results on my two who are out quarantining at home, but one is now symptomatic. All three of his family members are symptomatic, too, so no big shock. The other family is radio silent. I hope they are all okay.

I am once again seriously thinking about getting my booster shot. I may go ahead and make the appointment and say sorry later. Given the fact that I work in a cesspool of germs under normal cir****tances, I feel like getting a third jab in the arm for Covid protection is warranted! I am technically in the high risk obesity group and do get viral/seasonal asthma. Not exactly immunodeficiencies, but close enough for jazz, IMO.

Weight was down a pound today. It looks to me as if I'm just in my maintaining pattern - up a few, down a few, rinse, repeat....

I was thinking about my sleeve size Sunday. As I work on my eating disorder and understand it so much better than I did a decade ago, I have considered whether it is appropriate to pursue a revision of some sort. I contacted on bariatric surgeon, but he no longer does sleeve revisions. He suggests converting to a RNY. I was somewhat disappointed. My capacity seems much greater than what you all talk about. You all often talk about your sleeve being a saving grace to stop your eating. I understand that, but I can eat A LOT.

But this is what I would like to know from you all: What is your capacity for cooked meat? I don't want to know about carbs, because as we all know, most carbs are sliders and we can eat a lot especially if the carbs are highly processed. If I am not eating anything but meat, I can easily eat 8 oz of steak or chicken. I might be able to eat more, but I have never tried more than 8 oz. I usually eat a 4-5 oz portion of protein and a side of veg and a bit of carb.

Anyhow, just more of my daily musings.....

4 ounces of meat usually makes me very full - 5 ounces is usually way too full. Some meats are more difficult for me to go higher on. I stick under 4 oz to be safe.

I cannot imagine eating an 8oz steak! 3 to 4 ounces is my limit. Chicken breast, I can hardly eat any if it is a simple, grilled breast. Some pastas don't do well either, when I make internet feta pasta, I use thin spaghetti. Even carbs do fill me up fairly fast, but they also empty fast, so I can graze on them. But when served a piece of cake, I usually cannot fini**** But if I can sit at the table for 30 more minutes, I might end up eating those last bites. Protein, especially fatty protein, will stay with me much longer.

Ugh Liz, I'm sorry there is that outlier account. That happened with my MILs estate too. Everything was in joint tenancy, except one checking account, so my FIL did have to do probate. DH and I have everything in joint tenancy too, or are the primary beneficiary, but I worry there's one we've overlooked. DH just realized we had some IRAs, where the secondary beneficiary was our Goddaughter. These are accounts we opened before we had children. They are now finally updated.

Covid, I really have no clue where all my students are. I guess we show up, and teach whoever shows up, and try to help those who couldn't show up when they can finally return. I too want a third dose. Too much exposure.

Today was more trying than yesterday, but hey, full moon soon. I know it's probably confirmation bias, but it really does seem to affect behavior.

Good Morning All

Just settling from a 6.0 magnitude earthquake - boy oh boy - what else !!!! I was up in the office on a mezzanine level - hung onto the stair rails as I ran down them and outside. It was pretty full on..... but everyone is ok so Im thankful. Have had one aftershock but it was mild

Our entire construction industry was put into 2 week shutdown overnight. It has again left us scrambling as we try and get clear direction on what we can and cant do as far as work goes. It just leaves you feeling like a clown and trying with all you have to keep all the balls in the air. I have a responsibility to both my boss and our workers to ensure everything is covered off. Its hard when you are zapped from the seemingly never ending crappy announcements -onwards and upwards...... Cant help but think - what next but seriously I think we have had more than our share.

All my family and workers are all ok. Have checked on the neighbouring factory people too. Most of us ended up outside

Not a lot else to report.

Liz - Sorry you are having to go through that - its super hard and hope you get it sorted soon

Peps - Thinking of you with the infections - stay safe my friend

Hello to all who follow

Stay safe everyone xxx

is the shutdown due to COVID or the earthquake?

COVID Peps - a lot of the cases are coming from construction employees not following the mask rules, social distancing etc etc - they are not conforming so our premier has shut their entire industry down for 2 weeks. They are refusing to accept the mandated no vax - no worksite rule they have brought in. We are on day 3 of violent protests and I just cant process it all. Our medical emergency staff cant get the ambulances through the areas - its effecting lots of people hugely in many ways. My heart is breaking. We are a country who has always been known for its mateship and resilience.

People have reached a point of extreme frustration, many have lost everything and there is a moving goal post for any end in sight. I am saddened to see our communities imploding. The protests are causing our numbers to skyrocket - which in turn will put the hospitals into dire straits. And around it goes

The Earthquake was minor in the context of everything thats going on...... but added to the stress of what is currently our norm......

Hard to like this. Here in the US we are allowed to make most decisions on where we go and whether we are vaxxed. Even where there are rules they often aren't really enforced. And so we have had this extremely high rate of infection. It seems like Australia is at the opposite extreme and that isn't working either for different reasons.
