We are out to breakfast prior to traveling for the day. ETA on Cape Cod is about 6 pm. It has been a good trip getting things taken care of and having some alone time. The next 3 weeks at home are likely to be quite busy as everyone tries to fit everything in.

Good morning! Beautiful day on tap, sunny, calm winds, and 76. Tomorrow, back into the 80s.

We had a crazy storm Friday at 3am, so part of today will be picking up branches and sticks scattered everywhere. 2 tornados near us (within 10miles) and 70 mike an hour straight line winds.

When I was leaving for work on Friday, our vine cutting neighbor was looking at her fence. A neighbor's tree (not our tree thank heavens) was leaning on her fence. Doesn't look like any damage though. Here she is, surrounded by misbehaving trees, encroaching on her treeless, grass only lawn.

My daughter is reunited with her suitcase in Chicago. And her friends. Today she is going to the wedding of a friend who is part of her "Roma girls" group. They all came together their sophomore year during their study abroad program in Rome. Previous to Covid, they had at least yearly reunions in Chicago or New York, or once, Iceland :) Now weddings are providing the reason to get together.

I'm feeling so rejuvenated after a good nights sleep and Looking at a weekend free of obligations, besides the usual tasks of life like buying some groceries. After rushing from one class to another, one meeting to another, answering emails, voicemails, writing emails, scheduling IEP meetings to come, in addition to lesson planning and actually teaching classes, what a luxury to just putz around today.

Just RELAX!

Long walk today and more wild blackberry picking. Then a big shop at Sainbury's as several of Lesley's friends are coming for dinner tomorrow night. Tonight is dinner with another of her friends. Oh and coffee this morning with another of her friends. They all could not be nicer or more welcoming.

Tuesday we head to London on the train for a couple of days before my flight Thursday.

Weight remains stable.... Guess I've found my groove to maintain in this range. LOL! Hey, it's better than gaining!

I have a parent who is being a papa Grizzly bear. Two nasty emails in one day. His son and another boy are at odds and there has been some shoving, teasing and some hitting. Problem is the son never told me. Well, even after a talk with both boys they got into it again yesterday. Dad is irate. I am not doing my job properly, where can he get the policy on hitting? And then goes on to cite three "fist fights" occurring yesterday. UGH.... I will deal with it Monday.

Early grooming today, then a dog club board meeting (another ugh....) Not much on the fun plate for this weekend. Hmmm.... Maybe need to fix that.

Ceci, your vacation is absolutely enviable! So glad you are having a wonderful time.

DD, your weather is warmer than mine. Though I'm enjoying the cooler morning today.

Liz, welcome back to the Cape. I'm sure you are heading to the airport by now.

Parents like that cause their kids to be aggressive IMO.

Weird how each airline does pets in cabin differently. On Allegiant and JetBlue I can add them when I book and pay for them at that point with no special check-in. Southwest and Delta make you call after you book to "reserve" space, then go through the main line at the airport to pay for the pet. An extra 1/2 hour spent in line for Southwest today. We are flying Delta to Arizona in February but will be in first class so hopefully the check-in will be easier.
