We are packed and mostly ready to leave for Mike's place from mine. We are just waiting for the sheets and towels to be dry so I can leave the place ready for occupancy. It takes just under 3 hours to get to Mike's.
I had a nice visit with my friends last night. Like packing yesterday and today, it made me think about what I am going to miss from my life here. Though there were a lot of tough days with DH, it has still been a refuge at other times with lots of friendship and support.
Our plans for where to eat over the next few days has to be revised. Because it is off-season, some of the usual places are closed or don't have the happy hour specials we are used to. I know, not all that important to worry about.
Have a safe and healthy Tuesday!

The fact that you plan where to eat for "the next few days" cracked me up! I'm more of the "What do you want for dinner tonight" guy and that question is asked around 5 pm! Yesterday it was grass fed hamburger with grilled onions done sort of pseudo Patty Melt on a Keto Bread and a salad. I threw that together because neither of the guys would offer any suggestions as to what was wanted for dinner. So the idea of planning out where to eat out for a few days in advance just strikes me as so oddly organized it makes me chuckle.
My knee is feeling better, but wow! I did not enjoy that inflamed feeling in the joint. If that is what I have to look forward to if I have arthritis of the knee, I am not going to be a happy camper!
Weight is up a pound this morning. All good and deserved. I had sugary foods yesterday and a high sugar day always is followed by inflammation and water retention. Hmmmm.... you'd think that might be a deterrent, but not always!
I was very sad to read about Diane Ocean's mom passing. That certainly explains her absence from our board. I hope she is doing okay, enveloping herself in family and managing her grief positively.
Ceci's trip sounds so delightful. I am envious.
New batteries for the RV were ordered and paid for yesterday. I will pick them up today and get them installed. I can't see paying the RV place $175 plus $160 an hour for a home visit when I can do it myself. So, I'm doing it myself. LOL.
As David used to say, "More later"!
Mike is the planner. I am more like you: Usually just figuring out dinner for the current day.

Yes, definitely. I think his range from top to bottom is narrower than most of us but he has always considered himself "chunky".

Greetings All
Scrabble this am at a friend's house. There were only 3 of us so one guy plays two boards at once! And he is so good he still wins! Anyone ever read the book Wordfreak? Its about the world of competitive Scrabble which is its own weird world. I don't do tournaments anymore but it was fun when I did. But you have to get up early to play 7 or 8 games a day.
So while I was in the big city today I went to Winco, the discount grocery store. Found myself wanting to buy lots of stuff since its bargain priced but have to remind myself its no bargain if we don't eat it. Ham and green beans for tonight. My eating is fairly hopeless. Must make a protein push.
I used to be the meal planner and still am but often I get stuff to fix and then feel too tired to cook so I reheat some frozen thing.
Ouch Peps on the knee. I am approaching age 70 and yeah stuff sure hurts more. My left ankle has something wrong and I think its arthritis. DH has a magic light healer gadget which actually sort of works.
Big Bru Ha ha at one of the galleries because one artist thinks another is stealing her ideas. I have not seen the offending items but am told they worked it out. I am glad because as I board member I would end up having to mediate and I get so sick of petty fights that people expect others to solve for them. Same stuff at the studio.
Got some stuff from the kiln yesterday. Stuff I had forgotten I had done so big surprise! Another nice thing about old age.
Still watching the show Versailles. More poisoning and war.
And the California recall gets done today. Yay.
Hey BB, I just learned that my Cornhuskers play your Sooners this Saturday. I would demand a wager except I think the Sooners will be all over the huskers.
Not much else. Thinking of you, Diane O.

Scrabble tournaments!? Who knew! I was never good at scrabble or other word games probably because I don't enjoy them. Though I am not bad at Wheel of Fortune LOL.

I am wiped out. I have never had a caseload of students with such heavy, pressing needs. Probation officers, truancy officers, in patient treatments, suicidal ideation, did the disruptions of Covid hurt these children this badly?
All is seemingly calm at my parents home. My Dad has many appointments and tests lined up.
I got my eyes checked today, all is good, came home and took another multi hour nap. Time to scrounge some sort of dinner.
No, I don't believe Covid hurt these kids. What I believe is that Covid exacerbated what was already there waiting to be triggered sooner or later. As sad as it is, I think Covid sped up the process, kind of like fame, money and a lack of boundaries will speed up a young person's inclination towards drugs and poor behavior. Covid brought in to light some really major dysfunctions in some families. Some kids were able to navigate the strife with grace. Others were not. As tough and taxing as it is, you are blessed with the task of working with those who were unable for whatever reason to manage the shut down without damage. Those kids are lucky to have landed with you.
We really have to stand strong for these kids right now. Admin talks the talk, but the can't understand the walk because they are too far removed. Remember this year is supposed to be about returning to an emotional and social health that has been missing for 18 months for these kiddos.
God bless you for the work you do! Sending you strength, understanding and a great big hug!
Inspiring message from a great teacher! I don't know how DD and you do it
