We are flying to Florida today for 6 days to open up both homes. I am getting mine ready so SIL can stay there this year and we are getting Mike's place ready for us. Both cars are at mine right now and both need service. Florida is still in a summer weather pattern so it will be hot and muggy.
The bachelorette party was a success. I am tired but the Bride-to-be had a good time. I minimized my wine consumption especially yesterday because I really didn't want it. I had one drink with my garlic shrimp appetizer which was incredibly good but according to Mike I am still smell like garlic this morning. I guess he needs to ingest some in self-defense LOL.
Have a safe and healthy Sunday!

Ooh, I love garlic but avoid it as I hate smelling like it later! You're right, the only thing to do is to feed it to everyone.
I had the weirdest thing happen this morning. I was dreaming about my mom and she was making me really angry so in my dream I punched her (nothing I EVER would have done. I've never punched anyone). But when I did it, I actually punched the nightstand with all my strength! I broke the skin on two fingers and at first thought I broke the fingers. But since they move I think they are just bruised, sore, and and swollen. A quick Google (always a terrible idea) says I could have REM Sleep Behavior Disorder (where you lose your sleep paralysis while dreaming, which keeps you from getting hurt) and have a good chance of Parkinson's in a few years... yikes. Anyone ever done this?
This morning I went with my friend to work on layouts/editing for the monthly village newsletter (Kibworth Chronicle). Those are some very serious women and men! I think my page came out alright, but it made it clear hour many little differences there are in phrasing, spelling, and punctuation. Two countries divided by a common language! They'll put my name on the page - I said they may need to add "American visitor" next to it to preempt any outrage.
Tonight is "tea" (dinner) at her sisters.
I think that's all I have. Oh, and the country is beside itself with pride for the young tennis player who won the women's title at the US Open yesterday. You could hear the shouting at close to midnight last night!
Sounds like such a cool environment!
I used to sleepwalk as a child and did a lot of odd physical things while asleep. Be careful not to diagnose yourself too quickly with google. I had friends where the husband was a physician. He was forever diagnosing his kids with dread diseases. The wife would just roll her eyes LOL. All the kids are healthy adults now.

People do all sorts of bizarre things while asleep. I have slugged Ron more than once and have had a few episodes of sleepwalking as an adult. The best one was when I awoke to Ron asking incredulously, "What are you DOING?" I had gotten up and walked over the the hamper, lifted the lid and proceeded to pee into the hamper! Punching the night stand seems so tame in comparison!
You know have a story to tell about the time your dream self got angry and punch "the wall".
Quick check in......
Dog show yesterday was fun. IT's been a while since I've done a day trip dog show! It was really lovely and the weather was perfect - mid 70s with a slight breeze now and again. Blitz did well and got some needed practice in before the nationals in Pennsylvania next month.
Weight is slowly coming back down. The fluid retention was a great exercise for me. I'm pleased with how well I was able to manage my eating disorder when it came out to play because of the scale number.
Gotta run off to the dog show.....
It's fall temps here today, very still and overcast and a bit nippy. Sweatshirt weather. I think I can hold out for a few more weeks (maybe) before I have to switch to close toed shoes.
Sleep disturbances, one time I bit DHs arm in my sleep!!! Shortly after we were married. I woke up to him rubbing his bicep, sadly saying, why did you bite me? I left marks in his skin. All I could remember was dreaming something about a tiger. I had night terrors into my 40s where I would wake up screaming. And I was a sleep walker too. One time DH claims I came out to the living room, and said, do you see it? That light out there? They're back. Then turned around and went back to bed. I remember nothing of that incident.
Sorry you hurt your hand Cecily! I can see where the whole thing kind of shakes you up. Has anything like this happened before? I know my night terrors, sleep walking increased when I was sleeping in new places.
Yesterday ended up being a very lazy day. DH got home around 2pm. I suggested we take a nap, and then go kayaking. I woke up in an empty bed at 6:45! thirsty, hungry, and desperately needing to pee :) so, no kayaking. Luckily I had done a Costco run earlier, so there was some food in the house.
Today I've been sipping tea and reading. I'm planning on doing some batch cooking for the coming week, and sorting out my medication drawer to see if I need to reorder tamoxifen, fosomax etc. Before cancer, I was not on any prescription medicine. I expect I'll be adding something for blood pressure soon.
My past week with food felt in control. I like that feeling. I hope to continue on that path the coming week. Making my lunches ahead of time is a big help, and keeping healthy foods that I enjoy in my work fridge also helps.
Liz, safe travels! Tell Florida I miss them, and hope to be there soon. :)

First time I've ever done something like this! All of your stories make me feel better (the hamper, Peps?! Ha! And DD taking a bite out of your husband!). I think it was being so violent when I'm not a violent person that was so shocking and unnerving.
My friend thinks I may have broken my ring finger. It's really swollen, bruised and won't bend anymore. We're leaving for Bakewell (where Chatsworth House is) for 5 days tomorrow. Ugh. We taped them together, which is probably what a doctor would do and if it gets worse, I'll get it looked at. Who knew being paralyzed while you dream was so important! At least I wasn't dreaming about flinging myself off the roof or something!
Weird for sure but I bet it was because you are in a strange place including a different time zone. I hope it heals fast!
