I am at my Doctors office for my annual physical. My weight is not good! Up 25 pounds. Ouch!!!! I need to get my act together and stop eating. I know some of that is post-trip gain but that isn't a good excuse. Time to get on the wagon!

Today is day 1 of 2 for DD's friend's bachelorette party. Pretty low-key today as the two other girls coming are pregnant. I'm just as happy. I would have liked a totally down day after our few days in Nantucket but that wasn't in the cards.

Hav a safe and healthy Friday!

Hello all! 10 days into my trip! I'm glad I opted for a longer visit as it's flown. Today we went into Leicester city (kind of gritty unlike the gorgeous villages outside it). We did a little shopping and saw the Van Gogh immersive experience that is traveling the world. It's also in Los Angeles. It's like you're in his paintings and everything moves. And it was projected on the walls of an old church. Pretty neat. The end is an optional virtual reality headset experience, which is mind-blowing, but I had to stop early as it made me really nauseated. Add VR to boating, car backseats, and 3D movies on the list of things to avoid.

We have "popped round for tea" with several of her friends. They are much better about casual visits than in my experience in the US. Though I'm particularly hermitted, I don't think anyone does it like the Brits do! Out comes the tea and coffee and always a sweet treat of biscuits, scones or cake. We then "have a natter". A nice tradition.

Last night we went to a live show called Fascinating Aida. 3 ladies of a certain age who write and perform very irreverent songs. Hilarious!

Dinner with her friend tonight and tomorrow is walking around her village (Market Harborough).

Still doing well on food and exercise!

When do you come back to the USA? I have loved your photos! Some of those gardens are so inspiring. My favorite garden type is the English Cottage garden. It checks all my boxes. Would love to see some pics from the village gardens, too! (hint, hint....)

The flowers here are off the charts. Will get you some pics! I'm fly back to MI on 9/23. Or 23/9 in UK format.

So cool that you are living life like a Brit! The Van Gogh experience sounds really interesting though I am sure that I would get motion sick with the VR as well.

OMG! My eating disorder so wants to come out to play right now. I am up another pound this morning. So since Monday I am up 4 pounds. Ain't no way it's anything bu****er, but still.....ACK...... I am finding that acknowledging that the weight gain really triggers my dysfunctional thinking and is wanting to influence my eating is helping me relax and know it will be okay and that the water will once again recede.

I have dog shows this weekend, but am only showing one dog so it feels like nothing after the marathon dog shows showing multiple dogs this summer.

I wrote a second email to the RV dealership (to the general sales department and service department) about my RV issues. Hmmm.... response within 90 minutes from my salesman. Wonder if someone got on his butt about it. We have yet to connect, but it's clear they want to resolve the issue. That makes me happy. I will most likely take care of it myself. I don't want to take a day off work, drive 2.5 hours just to have the batteries replaced. I can do that here. It's really the point. The salesman wouldn't let me take delivery until a "thorough inspection and repairs" had been made. Really?????? Can't imagine they overlooked the battery, so it makes me think the inspection was BS. Who knows.... I'm still very happy with my purchase.

I have a nutritionist appointment today. Will be good to talk about the eating disorder triggers.

I am also pretty darn proud of myself for taking my shirt off during my workout yesterday, as shown on TT. I'm still kind of amazed that I had the courage, confidence and trust in my trainer to do such a thing. She is so very kind and complimentary. On Tuesday she asked me to tell her exactly where I thought I carried extra fat. It was a good exercise and interesting to hear her counters. I still see myself differently from the way she does, but I'm getting better at seeing myself through others' eyes.

Liz, 25 pounds is not the end of the world, though I understand the alarm. Remember those pounds were gained during a joyful period in your life and represent a newfound happiness and blossoming love. Your little smidge of regain is made up of "Happy Pounds".

"Happy Pounds" LOL!

I hope it is just the batteries in the RV, but can't issues in an electrical system cause a dead battery?

Greetings Dear Ones

Another day of life in the slow lane. The past two days Walter has visited with his mom. She spends lots of time training him and he has such good dog manners, unlike mine. She trained Poppy to stand still which works as long as you have treats in your hand. It was all fun. Tesla got pretty obnoxious but thats just how she is. I am so glad I get to see this pup and I will get to see him again. Ditto Bat Girl next year.

Poppy is a chill puppy. so much calmer than my previous ones. That said she still does not do well on a leash and needs remedial training there. Peps, her bite looks good. Walter's is not but everyone is ok with it. Do airedales often have bite issues?

Thinking about 9-11 tomorrow. It was one of the reasons DH and I chucked our demanding jobs and decided to move to Northern Cal. We are glad we did. So much has happened!

Spent today at the studio and scurrying around to get insurance paid for gallery. Stopped at the hippie grocery as they have these roasted vegetables I just love. Everything in that store deli smelled so good! Clue: I was hungry.

Yeah Liz I got weighed at the doctor a few weeks ago. Not pretty but not as bad as I expected. Methinks my body just wants to hoard a few extra pounds which I am ok with except my feet and ankles hurt and I know its weight.

Cecily keep up the garden photos! England is one giant garden. Love your trip reports.. More please.

What one dog Peps? Where is the show?

DH brought home 3/4 of a Reuben sandwich from lunch. Yay no cooking for me.

We are watching a series called Versailles about Louis 14 and all his peeps. Interesting. Everyone poisons everyone else.

Thats about it.

Oh, the other day at Starbucks I was watching some crows. One found a discarded dorrito bag in the parking lot, took it to the lawn, flipped it over and dumped out all the crumbs and then had a feast. Cool show.

I don't know what streaming services you have, but Hulu has a series called The Great, about Catherine the great. They too are all poisoning each other. I loved the first season. I will check out Versailles.
