Quick start off as my Wednesday winds down. It's been hot here the last several days! Whew! But rain and cool ahead. Today we visited Coton Manor and their gardens. Spectacular. The pictures don't do it justice. Then we had lunch in a pub with my friend's sister and he husband. Then a quick stop to pick blackberries on the side of a tiny road to make a blackberry crumble. A fun day.
With all the walking and limited eating, I may actually lose a little this trip... I'm also really limited on my Diet Coke consumption and have had to up my water intake a lot to compensate. What I miss is ICE. No one offers or has it here.
Off for a glass of wine by the river.
And your fantastic trip continues!
Today is Mike's birthday. We went to the beach down the street from our Inn yesterday snd this morning. We are currently waiting for the shuttle to Cisco Brewers where we will eat and drink. Tonight we are having dinner on the beach at a wonderful romantic Nantucket restaurant.
I am also doing a lot of walking and ate a lower calorie sushi last night (wrapped in n cucumber vs rice). So maybe I won't gain at least?
Have a safe and healthy Wednesday!

Happy Hump Day!
Well, my low weight was temporary after all. That's fine! I didn't over eat, but had a super tough workout yesterday and a single piece of pizza for dinner (can you say SALT). So between the workout muscle repair and the salt are a perfect storm for water retention. I don't usually gain 2.5 pounds over night, so I'm fairly certain it's water. It will come back off.
The new rig has a dead battery or something. It won't start. I'm almost sick over that. Seriously, I feel queasy when I think about it. It just makes me so upset that I spent all that money only to have the damn thing need repair after 3 days of ownership. Being a used RV, it was an as is sale.... Sigh..... I barely dealt with it yesterday, but am dealing with it today, which is stirring the emotional pot and making me feel the physical symptoms of the emotional turmoil.
Staff meeting and a little grooming this afternoon. Oh, yeah.... and checking the battery on the rig.....Not much else
I hope it's is just the battery and isn't any big deal! I can understand why you would feel sick about that after just getting it set up.

Cecily, it all sounds so perfectly British! Blackberry crumble, beautiful gardens, relaxing by a river... I've not been to the UK, closest I've been is Ireland. I need to go. And I'm envious you can travel in the shoulder season...before I became a teacher, I thought September was the perfect time to travel. I still do, but my principal and the school board don't agree!
Liz, your pictures are beautiful too. Did you bring your csr, or does the shuttle get you everywhere?
Sorry to hear about the battery trouble Peps. We always buy used, and come out ahead monetarily in the end (although buying new isn't all about losing value with depreciation, there are legitimate reasons to buy new), so I hope that's the case with this purchase.
Today started out crazy, I forgot my computer at home, but I did have my iPad in my desk. It was at 7%, but guess where my charger was? Yep, in my computer bag at home. My colleagues sprang into action, got me a charger, and a quick tutorial about how to get the iPad to project its screen through the apple TV projector in my room. STRESS! But I was able to use my PowerPoint slides, so all was well. I was so busy, I didn't really have time to even eat my lunch, let alone snack. Its going to be a crazy year, working with an overage. I really missed my prep. I'm sure I'll get used to it.
Before I went to bed last night, I argued with myself that spending 10 minutes to do my little workout would not really have an impact on the amount I slept. Its a win for me, because I can always justify why I don't/can't squeeze in some exercise. Then I wore a path in the carpet walking back and forth to the other side of the building 4 times. How kind of my supervisor to work exercise right into my day. :)
We did not bring a car and have stayed in walking distance except for the brewery which has its own shuttle service. We were talking about renting a car next time for a day just to poke around the island. It is quite costly to rent but also to ferry the car over. Renting bicycles works too for most places but we didn't have the proper footwear for that (not so smart).
