Starting us from England! What a beautiful village she lives in. Just getting settled, washed off the travel dirt, and doing the word puzzles from the paper while the plumber is working on the guest bath taps. I'll post some pictures later when I have some to share.

I felt like a veal on the plane: sitting with no movement while they feed you a ton of food twice in the span of a few hours. The plane was as comfortable as those things go and the time passed quickly. Now to stay awake until it's a reasonable time to crawl in bed... But I did have a moment of gratefulness for the sleeve when I had a ton of slack on the airplane belt. That's something I'll never take for granted!

Anyway, I think we're going to walk around the village in a moment with her friend. Take care all!

So glad you made it there finally! Have the most fantastic trip! I think it is easier to adjust to the time change in Europe if you take a nap on the afternoon of the first day but get up before dinner, clean up and stay up until normal European time. So you are still pretty exhausted when you go to bed the first night and as a result move to European time quickly.

The remnants of Hurricane Ida passed through last night. Lots of lightening and thunder just after midnight and it POURED. We got somewhere between 5.5-6 inches of rain here which is probably more than we have had since the beginning of summer. The mainland in Massachusetts had a lot of rain this year, but it always missed Cape Cod so we were quite dry.

Not much planned today because we thought it would rain all day but it is supposed to clear this afternoon so we will take a long walk with Justice later. We are planning on a salad with grilled chicken tonight using cucumbers and tomatoes from the garden. Healthier than we have had a lot of other days lately.

Have a safe and healthy Thursday!

I can so relate to being grateful about slack in the seatbelt. The year before my surgery, I needed a seat belt extension, for one leg of a trip, I guess the seat configuration was different on one of the planes. After that, I was so nervous every time I flew, not knowing if I would need it or not.

Glad you made it safely Cecily. And glad you're not flooded out after that big storm Liz!

Thank heavens you were able to get the root canal before the long weekend. Glad to hear it alleviated the pain.
