It now looks like Henrí isn't going to hit too severely here on Cape Cod unless there is a last minute change. We are prepared in case it doe**** harder though.

The floor is looking even better after the first coat of polyurethane. Hopefully the final coat can go on as scheduled on Monday.

We had a great beach day at Mike's house yesterday, followed by a nice cookout and fire with the kids. We stayed over there to avoid the floor fumes but left at 6 am to get back to my place and get chores done early. People were evacuating from Cape Cod in droves yesterday afternoon so we didn't want to get caught in it today. It looks like another good beach day - maybe the calm before the storm?

We are supposed to go to Boston to the Eagles concert on Friday. It is still on but we have to show proof of vaccination and wear a mask. We had been fearful that it would be cancelled.

Not much else in the wind. Have a safe and healthy Saturday!

The Eagles?!!! How awesome. I would love to hear them perform. Some indoor arts venues here are requiring masks, most theaters are, at least for now. No fan of wearing a mask, but I understand why the venue wants masks, and I'll cooperate.

We were at a concert in a tent, next to a lake. Prior to Covid, this venue did not do any outdoor concerts. Last summer they hastily set up some in the parking lot. We attended one gratefully. They decided to up the game this summer and bought an awesome tent, and real furniture (not the plastic tables and chairs), full table service etc. It was a beautiful night, and it didn't start to rain until we were driving home. No masks required outside, but they did ask patrons to wear one if you went into the building to use restrooms etc.

On my way to my parents house soon. Eating well is going to be a challenge today.

The Eagles were my favorite group back in the day but I have never seen them in concert. It is Mike's anniversary gift. They are playing the entire Hotel California album in order followed by other hits.

Greetings All

It seems odd that today being a Saturday does not have a lot of meaning anymore. Used to be such a thrill to wake up and realize I didn't have to dash off to work. Now its everyday. But college football is coming so that gives new meaning to Saturdays. I sure hope the season can go forward without covid spread. The stadium at my alma mater had a Garth Brooks concert a week ago with 90K people. Now he is canceling his tour due to covid. I had friends at that concert.

I am continuing to eat a buttered english muffin each day. Feels sort of evil. Oh well. We went out to lunch yesterday and I had eggs Benedict which I had been craving. I brought 3/4 home. It was a trash can lid sized plate of food including a bushel of fried potatoes. The hollandaise sauce was not so good. Junk from a jar. I will continue my search for a good eggs Benedict.

Have fun at the Eagles Liz. Love hearing all the fun stuff you do.

One person on the board at our gallery is being snarky to me. I asked him to not deposit dues checks until the board could address income tax issues they presented. He accused me of pulling the emergency brake on a train because there were squirrels on the track. Seriously?? Why do people interfere with stuff when they don't know what they are talking about. Oh well, why worry.

Studio buddy is coming over. This is the one who witnessed the snake without a head incident. No snakes today but she is bringing pictures of the bears that are on her property. Lots of bears around our town right now. No thanks.

DH finally got some new shoes. Old ones squeaked hideously and he would get up early and walk around the house for hours.

Thats about it. Must go to the store and get some stuff. Maybe a ready made salad for tonight.

Not much going on here.

It is unseasonably cool today, which is good for firefighting! A small blessing, to be sure, but anything to help with the fires right now is much appreciated.

Groomed this morning until about 1:30. Then I took a long lunch break. Afterwards I worked on Blitz for an hour or so.

My brother's dog is here for the night. That always adds a level of energy. Not bad. Not good. Just there. Everyone will be tired when cousin Riley leaves - especially cousin Riley!

You may remember last March my very good friend from High School had a stroke. She had another this past week. I got the call from her husband yesterday. It's not good. The stroke was much more significant than the last. She's lost function on her right side. It is mostly her leg that is affected, but her arm and hand have dysfunction, too. Her speech is intelligible, but her ability to retrieve words is very impaired. She is in an acute in patient rehab center/ICU setting. She will be there for several weeks and hopefully will be able to reduce care as she gets stronger. To make matters worse, my friend's oldest sister had a stroke in her sleep on Thursday night and died. My friend knows her sister passed away, but does not know how. That's best right now. Oh, the icing on the cake of this disaster?????? In Georgia with the huge surge in Covid19 cases, the hospitals are closed to all visitors. My friend has no visitors and doesn't have enough speech to be able to be her own advocate.

BTW, my friend is 56. And that, my friends, is why we must live everyday and stop putting things off until tomorrow.

I am so sorry about your friend. What a nightmare for her, her family and her friends.
