We are off to Mike's place today staying overnight because of toxic fumes from the floor refinishing. I think it will look great but the disruption is a royal pain. I didn't really expect it but probably should have...
So there will be much eating out this week. I even had to go out to get coffee this morning as I can't get to the coffee makers. Luckily I could access Justice's food so have packed it up to bring with us.
Oh, and then there is the hurricane coming this week that we have to prepare for. Fun, fun.
Have a safe and healthy Friday!

Crazy weather! Hope the storm heading for the east coast ends up being less serious than some of the predictions. We continue to have day after day in the 90s. I am finding little creatures like squirrels and rabbits all stretched out in shady places in the yard. I have two bird baths that sit on the ground and one traditional bird bath. I'm keeping them topped off, and all kinds of little creatures are showing up for a drink. Most of our state is in a severe drought, some parts are in extreme drought. Rain is predicted tonight. We, of course, have tickets to an outdoor concert this evening. Its in a tent, so if its just rain, things should be okay, but if it turns severe, as predicted, not sure if they will have to cancel. Worse things could happen, we'll be okay either way.
My son and his girlfriend are meeting us tomorrow at my parent's house, and then coming to our house to spend the night before they head back to Wisconsin on Sunday.
Continuing to reflect multiple times a day, am I really hungry? before I eat. Sometimes I am able to say, not yet, and walk away without eating. I also found a calisthenics video on YouTube that I am committing to doing daily. It's only 10 minutes, so a very small beginning. I feel like I lost strength during the months I was teaching from home. There are days I never left the house. At school, I am getting in at least 5,000 steps a day just moving around our big building. I'll use the 10 minute workout to establish the habit of exercising, and then increase the amount of time. Little steps.
Yes, construction is a pain! Sorry the fumes are over powering. At least you have an option!
Sorry I didn't check in yesterday. The day got away with me.
I spent some time researching "fat loss" on line, but using fitness sites rather than weight loss sites. Nothing new, but sure good reminders on how important protein and water are for fat loss. Sugar comes up on all lists as a substance to avoid. The main two reasons are due to inflammation and easy conversion of simple carbs into fat. So, today I will concentrate on adding more water and keeping protein high.
I have the first possible case of COVID in my classroom. The student is out until she gets a negative result on a COVID test. Oh, joy.... I have another student this morning who looks like he's going downhill quickly, but his is gut issues. Fingers crossed.... I really don't want to be exposed to the Delta variant. My HMO is only giving boosters right now to immuno compromised individuals, so I will have to wait on the booster shot.
Another great workout yesterday.... I'm feeling so good about my strength and the definition in my upper body. Sure, I'm still heavy as heck, but I love that the fitness is shining through!
Hope everyone has a great Friday!
These kids, how can they avoid getting Delta variant? They can't be vaccinated, and adults won't all do what they can to protect them. I don't know what I would be doing right now if I had children under 12. News about the variant is scary, but remember the article you posted, breakthrough cases are very rare for vaccinated people. I figure I've already been exposed just going about my life. Are you wearing masks in elementary classrooms? So far, my district is not going to require them. Not sure how they are going to protect these little ones with just hand washing and social distance (which is impossible in a room with upwards to 30 students).
