I asked a question on yesterday's thread (Wednesday) and Peps responded. Holy Hannah, there is a lot to digest in your response Peps. Thank you for your thoughtful, detailed reflections. Its given me a lot to think about.
I find myself standing in front of the fridge or cupboards also, with the full realization that I am not actually hungry. There really are no snacky type foods here right now, so I usually sigh, and leave without eating. I'm pretty sure I would snack if there were some more tempting foods. That's my kryptonite right now, not saying no to foods I enjoy when I'm not hungry. I can control what's in the house pretty well (my family is very kind about keeping snack foods out of my sight if I ask), but soon I'll be back at work. Need to reflect more deeply on what I want for myself.
And that is exactly my problem too - grazing and eating something I want when I'm not really hungry. I do know how to fill my sleeve up, but a couple of hours after eating I get the urge to graze even though I am not truly hungry.
BUT: Since I can barely get into my kitchen for the next week, I may be in better or worse shape! I have been waiting for a couple of months to get my living room/dining room wood floor refinished. Well, they had a hole in the schedule so started it this morning while I was still in New York. My 2 SILs came over last night to clear out all the glassware from my cabinets so the workers could move the furniture. My kitchen and my first floor bedroom are chock full of furniture. I can get into my sunroom via the garage and from there to the downstairs bath and kitchen. To get to my bedroom upstairs I have to go outside and in the front door. And the sealer they put on stinks, so the doors to the sunroom and the bedrooms have to be kept closed with the windows open in those rooms. And of course it is incredibly muggy because the remnants of Tropical Storm Fred came through today. The furniture can't go back on the floor until Thursday.
So I am not sure where we will stay this week. We can't go to Mike's house until Monday because his kids and grandchildren are all there through the weekend. But I guess we will manage and the floors already look great. But I really wish this could have happened when I was in Florida and DS was here to supervise (he is in Washington state until 8/29).
Have a safe and healthy Thursday!
