VSG Maintenance Group

I couldn't get on OH at all earlier this morning. It seemed that their server was down.
Mike and I are on our way to Saratoga Springs with a few stops at places he used to go to (he lived in the area for many years). I have wanted to go for a long time so am very much looking forward to the next couple of days. I have numerous masks packed so am ready to mask on when not outdoors.
The friend who was hospitalized for a month after a cardiac arrest finally left the hospital yesterday. Though he can barely walk, his insurance denied inpatient rehab and sent him home by car to have therapy at home. He had to be driven more than 3 hours home and a host of neighbors had to help him get into his house which is up a hill with steps. We are just completely floored that his insurer would deny it. Apparently he is on a Medicare Advantage plan (HMO) and the company is known to be really difficult on things like this. Another new insight about senior issues. We all hope this works out but the wife is notoriously unable to fend for herself. My friend has done all the driving, shopping, house chores, and cooking for years.
Once again, life is short and enjoy every moment you can!
Have a safe and healthy Tuesday.

Seriously?! Your friend's insurance sounds criminal.
I saw the tropical storm did come ashore last night, so hopefully it moves on and doesn't interfere with your trip.
We are enjoying our explorations of local sites, closer to home. Off to another river city today. I also am happy that I am not snacking while I'm busy being a tourist. Yesterday I had a wine flight that was paired with little bites. Perfect for a sleeve :)
Well, it's late, but I still want to check in.
I had "one of those days". Issues at work (none were student, of course. Just bureaucratic BS - deceit, espousing one thing, but doing another...), dog club stuff that rubbed me the wrong way, and Ron didn't follow through on getting our van from one mechanic to the other. At least I had a great work out.
So, to take care of myself I decided to resign from all local dog club responsibilities starting December 31. I also wrote the Superintendent expressing my frustration, asking her not to be angry with me, but to address the inconsistencies with what the district employees were told in the first day back keynote address and what is now being asked of teachers. Frustrating....
Well, I need to run off to the grocery store to pick up spaghetti and marshmallows for the STEM project I'm doing with the kiddos tomorrow afternoon.
