The Jimmy Buffett concert was great (video on FB). But the tail-gating part was too HOT and there were too many people but thankfully we had shade. I don't plan to go to one of these again, but DD wanted us all there this time in her Dad's memory. We had gone with her in 2014 and he loved it.

Today is a beautiful beach day - warm but much lower humidity. I am sitting with my SILs who are as tired as me after the concert. We didn't get home until 1! Poor Mike had to leave for golf at 6 this morning. He must be exhausted (or will be by tonight).

Have a safe and healthy day!

Lots of particulate in the air today from the Dixie fire. Boooooo! This is getting to be an annual thing here. Makes me sad, but with the hands of federal forest management for the past century there is a lot of fodder for the fires. Not sure if any of you know this, but fires are such a natural part of the western US that there are conifers that do not propagate without the heat of a fire - the heat is what opens the cones to release the seeds.

Weight remains stable. YAY! I'm consuming roughly 2500-2700 calories per day to maintain. That's pretty good, actually.

GOAT is coming home today to be put back in its original state. Removing crates, putting back sofa. Hoping to make the switch within the next week or two.

Glad the concert was fun and there was shade for you, Liz. I can imagine that you will be exhausted by this afternoon!

I think my construction may actually be done this week or next..... I can't believe it has taken this long, but I should have known.....

Great to see Ann's post on FB with her smiling face by the sea shore! Miss her voice here.

Good Morning All

Start of the working week here again after a lovely weekend weather wise. Still in lockdown and lm sure it will be extended this week due to the selfish acts of many. Frustrated beyond belief at the stupidity of many. We are in lockdown, that means you can only leave home for following reasons, medical care, to go and get vacinated, to caregive, to attend work if you are on an approved list and to exercise for an allocated time period with strict guidelines...... So some in their "wisdom" decide that it would be ok to do a pub crawl across one of the busy inner city areas - mask free of course and then the other one is a family hosted an engagement party for 100 ppl - yes 100 and 2 of those ppl had covid. We are not allowed ANYONE in our homes let alone 100 of your closest friends/family. WTF

So the majority of us, who are following the rules and not seeing our loved ones- missing the contact, birthdays etc will be placed into a longer lockdown due to the muppets who think they are above the rules. VENT over!

DH has just gotten back from the Drs and he has Shingles. Poor man. Hes on meds for a week so hopefully that makes him more comfortable.

Nothing much else to report. Living groundhog day at present.

Am loving reading all of your adventures :) Brings a smile to my face

Love to you all

Our premier has just announced a further 2 week lockdown - so it will be reviewed again on 2nd September. There are now curfews in place from 9pm till 5am for everyone except permitted critical staff

All businesses who have staff working must apply and be granted a permitted worker permit.....

And so the scramble begins - to see where my company fits in and what we need to do from here......

My youngest Grandson will now spend his 2nd Birthday in lockdown - so thats 1st and 2nd birthdays at home with no celebration. Frustrating especially when ignorant people refuse to do the right thing !

I am so sorry you all have to deal with this. Like you, many here are getting angry at those who flaunt the rules and those who aren't getting vaccinated though it is easy to do so here.
