We are at Mike's beach - the heat index in the main part of Massachusetts is supposed to be 100 today, but it is 80 here and feels a bit cooler due to the breeze. So while one doesn't always enjoy Cape cod traffic in the summer it sure is nice to be at the beach on days like today.
My friend did well with his additional stents yesterday so hopefully he will be transported to a NH rehab tomorrow.
Tonight I am getting together with 3 girlfriends for dinner and to a live show afterwards (comedy). We have to wear masks but I'm okay with that. Mike and my son are getting Chinese take-out for dinner as I don't really like it though they do.
Have a safe and healthy Wednesday day!

The concert was great, but so hot and steamy! Harry commented that it felt like he was back in New Orleans... It was sold out. Very few masks. We didn't wear them. It was far too hot. He is such a talented musician and seems like a genuinely nice guy (and so funny too).
On the drive home we were treated to an amazing lightning light show. Non-stop flashes and bolts. Thankfully the wind and rain blew in literally the minute we drove into the driveway. More storms coming this afternoon and tonight.
Aside from that not much going on. Our neighbor who is an experimental cook made homemade bagels this morning and brought some to us. Argh. Delish.
Greetings All
Thinking of you all but not much here to say about food and weight. We got a pizza last night which will feed us 3 more days. I am so not in to cooking any more its a joke. I should be taking advantage of farmers market but just don't feel like it. I have been able to spend more time at the studio these past couple of days. Maybe squishing clay around is enough like cooking that I don't need to cook.
Covid is raging again here. Its younger people. I wish the news would report more about spread events. And yet the county is still going ahead with the county fair here soon. I will not go. Not worth it.
Cecily glad the concert was good and that you were able to attend without getting rained on. Harry is awesome.
School already Peps!!?? Wishing you a great school year. You provide so much to those kids - lessons remembered for life.
Chinese take out Liz! Thats one thing we don't have thats any good around here. Or at least I don't know where to find it.
Poppy is out in the back yard with her mom Tesla learning to bark at the neighbor dogs. Thanks Tesla.
Its still cool and nice here on the coast but record heat again inland. Just renewed my earthquake insurance.
Thats about it. Diane S
Diane S, our county fairs are going ahead too, along with our state fair, The Great Minnesota Get Together. Guns are banned on the fairgrounds, and right now, a group is suing for the right to carry at the fair if they have a carry permit. Oh boy. I love the state fair, but I think I'll sit this year out.
I went to a school board meeting last night to support teachers who were speaking during public comment in support of our equity office. It's existed for YEARS, but suddenly it's infuriating to a group of residents. Reminds me when my kids were first identified for the gifted program and I went to a parent meeting. People were complaining about how much money and attention was "lavished" on under performing kids, and "our kids have needs too". Never mind there was a full time gifted teacher to meet their needs in elementary, and honors and AP classes in high school. Never mind that it benefits all of us to help kids who struggle achieve more, or that you sound pretty cold hearted fretting that your bright healthy child is being denied something because we're using too many resources trying to help a disabled kid... Anyhow, it was that attitude. And masks. One woman actually said it is scientifically proven that your mouth is the dirtiest part of your body, and making kids wear masks all day was worse than if we would make them wear dirty underwear over their faces. Not willing to test her hypothesis.
This evening we are going out to dinner with BFF and her son's wife and children. I threw away some cake this morning. I think I've purged the most irresistible party leftovers. Feeling more in control.
Hello All
Popping in during my lunchtime to say a quick hi. Our 6th Lockdown has been extended as we battle to contact the Delta cases. I am thankful to have had my first dose of Pfizer yesterday afternoon. Mild sore arm but nothing worth mentioning so far. I should be fully vaccinated by 1st September all being well.
My mum had a nice 80th Birthday in spite of being in lockdown for a second year. We organised nice flowers and cooked her requested meal plus vanilla slice as dessert. We dropped it all off and I did her meal plan with her - then we went home and facetimed so we could eat with her. She had lots of calls and texts. I dropped her groceries off last night as I shopped as soon as I finished work.
Work is super busy - juggling to see if our training day will be re-scheduled yet again. Finding it super frustrating...... One of our team has resigned so we are in the midst of recruiting. His final day is next Friday so we will have Pizza and drinks at the factory to give him a good send off.
Thats about all I have. Leading an exceptionally boring life at present - work, home, sleep, rinse n repeat.....
Love to you all and stay safe as this Delta variant is super nasty
