Not much to report on, but I thought I'd give us a placeholder.

I ate too many cookies yesterday, but they are gone and I skipped Sunday breakfast with the fam (waffles and bacon today). I didn't need it after all the cookies.

It's a rainy day here, stopping in bit, staying cloudy, and raining again tonight and into tomorrow. I hope DD's party wasn't hampered by rain!

I have some cleaning to do today (good gloomy day project) and a quick trip to the grocery store.

We have concert tickets to see Harry Connick Jr Tuesday at Interlochen. It has a roof, but the sides are open and it seats 4000. I was fine with us going when I bought the tickets in early June and thought the vaccines worked, but now I'm not as sure with vaccinated people catching and trading it too. I just don't want my dad to catch anything. It is generally an older crowd (my favorite because people actually sit during the concert! Appeals to my inner senior citizen who also enjoys dinner at 4pm), so I would imagine more vaccinated than most concert crowds? Hmm.

Anyway, hope you all have a great day!

The concert is a bit of a tough one isn't it? Vaccinated people are pretty safe right, except if for some reason their immune system didn't have a robust response to the vaccine. But that is not common, or we would have more vaccinated people in the hospital. It is a very, very small percent. Would you all consider masks? They do provide some protection for the wearer also. I'm actually glad that the theater where we see our Broadway shows will be requiring masks. I have great faith in the vaccine, but I like the additional protection provided by masks when we're sitting in an enclosed space with lots of people for a few hours (like on an airplane). That being said, I have not masked up anywhere unless required, so it would probably be hard for me to wear a mask to the concert if not required, even though it would be the prudent thing to do.

My party was so fun! Lots of laughs with old and new friends, the decorations were awesome (have a 28 year old in charge), and the rain held off. It was ungodly humid though, so we still thought we'd be indoors, but just as the party started, the wind lifted and it was quite pleasant. We have so much food left over though! Not all of it is stuff that can be frozen. Oh and Karaoke turned out to be a blast. And surprising, we learned some friends can sing!

Today is lazy, we got all the food and dishes dealt with last night, but decorations are still up. Twinkle lights everywhere. We didn't get a lot of pictures, which is good, because it means we were in the moment enjoying it. My biggest task today is to wait until I am actually hungry before I have another snack. It may be hours, but I'm determined to wait.

I like thinking about Poppy starting off on her who's a good girl life with Diane S and her DH. I envy everyone their dogs. I miss our girl so much, even now. But it wouldn't be a good time to get a dog since we intend to travel as much as possible. And since DH would want another Labrador, it wouldn't fit in a pet carrier like Justice :) But we still have the cat, at 19.5 years, I'm beginning to wonder if he is immortal.
