I didn't do a lot yesterday, but it was a beautiful day here. I read, walked, picked some lettuce from my weedy garden, made dinner, went to the farm stand for sweet corn and blueberries, and took a sunset boat ride.

Today is walking, maybe some weeding, and dinner at a friend's house.

My eating has improved greatly with the threat of clothes not fitting for my trip next month. Amazing how I respond to THAT, but not something like my overall health. Priorities, I suppose! All the crappy carbs (bread, crackers, chips, ice cream) are gone from my house which caused some angry withdrawals at first, but a few days in actually left me feeling calmer. My weight is down 3 pounds in 4 days (carb bloat no doubt) and I feel more in control. Now to keep it going for the next month...

Hoping you all are doing well!

Nice job! I need to find my motivation!

My visit with my friend at the hospital yesterday was good. However though he is improving it is very slow and he has lost a lot of weight. I don't think he will be considered out of the woods for a very long time. That should be a motivator for me to lose my regain with my HBP issues.

I keep hearing of many people in Florida who are getting Covid even though vaccinated. They don't get super sick but it is still obviously very nasty and the variant must be incredibly contagious as these people had successfully avoided getting it prior to being vaccinated.

We are at the beach this afternoon near Mike's house. It isn't completely sunny but is quite pleasant. I'm not sure what we will do tonight. My friends wife is staying elsewhere at least for a couple of nights so it is just Mike, DS, and me. Tomorrow is Mike and my 1st anniversary so we are celebrating it most of the day.

Have a safe and healthy Tuesday!

Good for you Ceci ! A purged ice cream and boxes of crackers, but did pick up some wine. The rainy season continues here, but I'm saving a ton on water use ! The mornings are typically sunny, which works well for me. I can't begin divorce proceedings until November, but I may move forward with a legal separation.

Made a great concoction ...Mexican street corn, drained black beans, salsa, cilantro, onions, peppers. I have a few spoons of that with cottage cheese, chicken, etc. and it is so cool and satisfying !!

Hi all, we arrived home last night around 10:30pm. It was a very busy trip. Normally we go to one place and hang, but this time we switched where we laid our heads 4times. 2 nights at a B and B in Rockport, 2 nights in Ipswich with family, 2nights in the Hotel in Boston's seaport area, and 1night in DD's apartment in Jamaica Plains. Whew! We had so much fun at each stop. The wedding was spectacular, food, flowers, music, we danced like fools all night.

I too feel resentment for having to don a mask because people won't vaccinate. Right now we are being advised that masks will be strongly encouraged when we return to school but not required. Should I wear one to set a good example and in solidarity with students who haven't been vaccinated yet? High school age are eligible for vaccinations, but what happens to kids whose parents aren't in favor of vaccines? Whatever the student is thinking, their parents are the ones in charge. We still have a month before kids are back, so we'll see how this plays out.

My family is hosting a birthday party for me on Saturday. A lot of friends already had vacations etc planned, but there are enough people able to attend that we should have a good time. We are planning outdoors, and we have been enduring a drought. But suddenly there is a chance for rain on Saturday. The drought is so bad, I guess we'd have to see it as a blessing.

Catching up on reading , and I'm happy to hear that Liz's sister in law is have such a good response to her treatment. Cecily, your trip is the perfect motivator! The wedding I attended was supposed to be mine, instead my dress was a bit snug! Hope it goes better for you. :) Love all the good dog show news, and happy to hear that Sadie is back to getting her walks, and Diane's puppy is having a happy life. Diane O, how awesome to find a church community you can connect with, because sometimes church shopping takes a long time. Shirl, I cannot express enough sympathy for what you are all going through. I should quit complaining about having to wear a mask someplace, when I have the incredible security of knowing I and my loved ones are vaccinated. I can't wait until you can say the same.

Tonight, more eating out. We are having dinner in Minneapolis with our God daughter. I am a little fatty again. But I am not the big fatty I was, so I take some solace in that.

Greetings all

Not much excitement here. Except I had to meet up with DH at the vet to get Poppy a shot and I had to be elsewhere earlier. So he drove her in our ancient SUV. It has kind of a weird hatch in the back with a glass part that lifts up and a lower part that opens out like a car door. So when we were finished, DH drives off with the glass hatch up! I followed him down the highway honking and waiving. He waives back! Finally I got him to stop and shut that gate. No harm done. The odd thing is that some weeks ago we saw this woman at the vet drive off with her entire hatch back up and her cat in a cage in the back. everyone was yelling at her but she was clueless.

My earlier engagement was a scrabble playing event. I got the weird word of the day - "unison" for 88 points. Yay me.

Food is dismal. Too much prepared stuff with pasta in it. Good on you Cecily for getting rid of your carbs.

Stay safe all. I too am pretty angry with the anti vexers because they are allowing the virus to spread. I only know one person who has a decent reason to avoid it (decent but not good) because she is sensitive to chemicals and is afraid it will make her sick. The other ones are not political conservatives but more hippy dippy into herbs and such. I fear bad days are ahead.

Thats about it. Enjoy the day. Diane S

Good Mid Morning All

Determined to get back into posting so here I am

Weight - weighed this morning 175.12lbs a slight drop from Mondays weigh in

Had a lovely pedicure and parafin dip last night - my feet feel amazing - got the eyebrows sorted as well :)

Meet up with Ex Husband went ok but I know it was just Lip Service when I asked for committments re our sons support both emotionally and financially. Im filled with anger and frustration but just have to sit tight and see what his move brings and deal with the issues as they arise - as Im sure they will. Outta sight outta mind if you get the drift GRRRR

Going to pick up my Grandbabies from Child Care tonight with my stepson - we are then all going to local hotel for dinner. I cant wait to see them all. DH is driving down from Farm to surprise them then will drive back up

Cec - good on you for banishing the carbs - they are my downfall. I have been trying not to snack after dinner as once I start I struggle to maintain any control. Its an ongoing battle huh but you have a lovely reward waiting - time in the UK with your close friend

Liz - So tough to read about your friend - must be so hard on everyone - him included. Wow 1 year already - so lovely to see you so happy and content

Diane O - So happy to read you are enjoying your new space even with all the rain. Onwards and upwards my friend

Diane S - Glad no mishaps with transporting precious Poppy :)

DD - Sounds like you had a wonderful trip and that your family has organised a lovely birthday party. Thinking of you and hope you enjoy every moment :)

Hello to all that follow. Peps thinking of you lots - when are you back?

I had best get some more work done

Take care all
