Last night's dinner for SIL's birthday was good. The upcoming wedding has other SIL (mother of the groom and wedding dinner host) going a bit crazy: landscaping etc. DS is over-planning on appetizers and table set-up. DS has about 8 different appetizers planned for 13 people for perhaps a 2 hour period whi*****ludes a sit-down surf and turf meal. We want to pare down to a charcuterie board and shrimp only. He wants to move couches into bedrooms at SIL's house to make room for a second table and she says no way. I know he is trying to do his best for his cousin's wedding but we need to calm him down. Too much time since he has been to work.
Mike is golfing today and I am taking my friend's wife to visit him. So frustrating for them both to have had him in the hospital for 17 days now with no clue on next steps yet. He is supposed to have some tests today and tomorrow to determine if he is strong enough for a cardiac catheterization.
I just read an opinion piece in USA Today about being angry at the unvaccinated for throwing us back into restrictions. He said we need vaccine passports and instead of making the vaccinated mask, there should be a crackdown on those who are not vaccinated. In his opinion "instead of focusing on how to contain spread from unvaccinated people, the CDC put the onus on the rest of us - advising the vaccinated and especially children to again mask up indoors. Why should kids and the vaccinated bear this burden? The right thing to do is to impose restrictions on those who choose to go unvaccinated." I can't say I disagree. BTW, if you have seen that Cape Cod is one of the unsafe spots, that red is almost entirely due to a huge spreader event in Provincetown at the very tip of the Cape which didn't really spread beyond the immediate area. And 75% of those affected there were vaccinated so the hospitalizations are incredibly low thank goodness.
Tonight I am glad to be getting together with my vaccinated girlfriends. Have a safe and healthy Monday!

Today was front yard morning, and a few errands. The Covid variants are giving many areas unrelenting challenges. Liz, I don't know what the answer is for people who have been vaccinated, but I am gladly masking up again and avoiding being inside as much as possible. Both the Delta and the Columbia strains are in full force down here.
Both ice cream and wine have to be greatly diminished. I'm back at the top of my 139-144 range. Had my weekly fabulous Zoom with DDs last night. They are such a light in my life.

Good Morning All
Trying to get back into a routine of popping in each morning - dont know why the days fly past so fast. I was gone from the house 12 solid hours yesterday - worked 10 of those then did a Costco trip for my mum and to get some muffins for one of the guys whose birthday it is today. Dropped all her stuff off and home to eat then do laundry and other chores. Rinse and Repeat.....
Tonight Im thankful to have a pedicure and eyebrow at 5pm - finally able to go after lockdown. Then I am meeting with my ex husband to discuss his retirement and move to South Australia - and how we will work it with our children. Not looking forward to it - to be honest. Im hoping my gut feeling is wrong.... time will tell
Tommorrow night I have planned to go to a hotel for dinner with my stepson, his partner and our grandbabies as we havent seen them in weeks and I miss them all terribly. DH will drive 2.5 hrs down from the farm to join us a surprise. Looking forward to to it very much
Weight - I have been comfort eating, boredom eating, frustration eating - you get the idea - none of it good but thankful after an active weekend I am back down under my top (no go) weight. Need a headspace adjustment in order to focus more on it. Too much else going on at present
Thats really all I have
Love to you all
