A sunny, warm day here on Cape Cod again. I will probably go to the beach later perhaps with one SIL. Mike is meeting friends for lunch so I am on my own until this evening when we are going to a Cape Cod baseball league team. SIL's granddaughter is interning for the local team this summer and it is intern appreciation night. The other SIL has a gravesite service today for her stepson who died suddenly from a coronary at age 58. He had estranged himself from all family including his children so this is difficult but they are doing what his deceased father would have wanted.

And my friend who suffered a coronary 11 days ago is still waiting for a cardiac catheterization which they hoped would happen yesterday. Apparently the renal doctor didn't feel that his kidneys were strong enough to handle the dyes yet. So difficult since they can't really develop a treatment plan until they ascertain exactly what caused the coronary.

So once again we have to remember how short life really is.

I hope all is well with those checking in here, especially Ocean Diane. Have a safe and healthy day!

Faced the scale this morning and it wasn't pretty. But I can turn it around.

Getting my hair colored today. And maybe a nap, because we had thunderstorm winds (but little rain as the storms mostly passed us by) all night. Being surrounded by giant trees is great until it gets windy. The noise is crazy.

Hope everyone has a good day!

I'm so used to the tree thing, I forget it might sound crazy . The only time I ever was bothered, we were tent camping during a huge wind, and we could hear trees breaking and falling! I was just about ready to insist we ride it out in the state park showers, but then it let up.

I grew up with big trees and have big trees all around the house. I have grown to love the sound of the wind in the trees. I never mind it, but when it's really bad I keep the dogs in. We lost a branch of considerable size off the Creek Willow a year or two ago and it was enough to bring down part of the fence. Seeing, and more specifically - hearing, that made me rethink allowing the dogs out in teh back during that kind of weather!

Beautiful weather here. Yesterday we had to leave the house at 4:30am to catch our flight! The B and B we are at is comfortable, and so well located. If we weren't staying here, we would probably had to park further from the Historic area than the guest parking lot. We went to a free concert in the park last night, and was just the relaxing activity we needed.

Today we had breakfast, and successfully escaped the know it all couple who were pouncing on people as they walked into the breakfast room.

We spent the morning browsing all the fun shops, and then had lunch at what I guess you could call a fish shack. I had a to die for lobster roll, DH said his fish was some of the best fried fish ever. Loved it. Due to employee shortages, most of the nice restaurants are closed this evening. So we are going to one that people say the food is average, but the patio is awesome. We can get foodie grade food anytime we want in Minneapolis, but what we can't do is dine oceanside, so we're choosing the view, and not worrying about a blow out meal.

Liz, we are breathing the same sea air! You a bit farther south than me. DH is of the opinion we should sell everything we own and move to Massachusetts. We are definitely enamored with Cape Ann, we'd probably love Cape Cod.

Congrats on escaping Mr. and Mrs. Know it All. Every tourist attraction has one or more. And yay for fried fish. DS

Hi Everyone!

Feels like it's been forever since I've checked in. All is well in my world. I LOVE the new show site in St. Paul, Oregon. We are set up on the rodeo grounds and is simply lovely. It's the atmosphere I love most for dog shows - the middle of farmland away from urban life. It was deliciously dark and quiet here last night. I am very much a country boy at heart.

RVs are money suckers! LOL! I knew that before I bought GOAT, but I need to now get the toilet resealed or something. I noticed there is water under the vinyl plank flooring in the loo and we are noticing odor after a few days in the RV. I have initiated a "No Poop" rule, except in emergencies! LOL! There are 2 porta potties about 50 feet from the RV, so we should be okay.

Food intake has been okay. I haven't been super good about tracking and monitoring my macros. Water intake is over the top because of the heat, so that is not a concern. I have been enjoying some treats, but don't feel I am over doing it. I've been doing mostly 2 meals a day with a lite snack late afternoon. Works for me.

Show update: Dinah is a new champion! Along with winning Winners ***** she won Best Bred by Exhibitor in Show on Friday and got a $250 check. Gotta love that! Blitz showed 2 days and did well. He's too thin (Ha! Don't we wish), so he didn't do as well as I had hoped, but he did earn a Group 3 in the National Owner Handled Series. Lulu had a big win at a regional specialty on Friday earning a 5 point major and Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed (BOS) beating two champion females for the award. A dog I co bred, Atlas, also earned his championship this weekend and won Best of Breed three of the four days. Not sure if you all remember a dog I had named Liza, but she also was a big winner on Saturday and a dog I bred named Raja was the big winner yesterday! I felt pretty good that dogs bred by me won pretty much everything all weekend long! Not sure how the other breeders felt, but I sure was happy!

Even though it's a day off today, I have to get Lulu trimmed. All the other dogs have gotten their beauty treatments, so now it's Lulu's turn!

Best to all!!!!

Greetings All

We actually had some rain today so I slept late. I actually do that most every day but its easier when there is no sun to wake you up.

Poppy experienced her first rain today. She did not like it. Terrorized her grand pa. Fortunately Tesla runs interference much of the time. And speaking of dogs, a friend came by to pick up some items we were storing for another friend. Suddenly he is talking to a dog and I thought our dogs were out! No, it was a nice looking husky that smelled faintly of skunk who came into our garage. It had tags but we couldn't read them. Finally DH and neighbor caught the dog which turned out to be from Texas and belonged to a lady staying down the street. I fed it some treats to get it out of the garage. Named Aspen, a cute name for a husky.

And further speaking of dogs, big congrats to Peps for an astonishing weekend of wins at shows in Oregon. Folks, you can all be sure the other exhibitors were talking about Peps and his dogs behind his back!! Dog show people are so hilarious which is lots of what makes it all so fun.

Yikes, sending good energy to DianeO. Our tribe knows what's up. Sure hoping for peace and serenity soon. Permission granted for some stress eating.

Lordy I am becoming allergic to technology. Tried to open an instagram account for the sole purpose of watching one of our puppies. It is so NOT intuitive for me plus my iPad is old. If anyone wants amusement, check videos of Walter of the Wild West who is one of Tesla's puppies.

Liz thanks for the reminder that life is short and so sorry you are getting the memos. We are all hoping your friend improves enough for the cardiac cath.

I did the pool yesterday. I often see a man there who uses a walker. We talked a bit yesterday about the need to use the pool stairs (not a pool ladder) to get in and out. Really wished they had designed that pool differently for better use by kids and oldsters. They actually put in this under water table thing for little kids to stand on.

Take care all. Ham and eggs here tonight.
