Where was everybody yesterday? It must have been a busy day.
Tough discussions with your Mom, DD. So difficult to be at this point.
My friend with the coronary has had a bit of a downturn and had to have dialysis yesterday. I don't know if that means his kidneys will never function fully again or it is just a temporary measure required. My reading about cardiac arrest and acute kidney failure does not yield a promising prognosis. He is only 69 and was seemingly quite healthy and active previously so this is hard to accept. And as I mentioned, his wife has a tough time functioning on her own. DS took her to NH for the last couple of days because she cannot do the drive herself. She does have a license but will only drive in fully familiar areas and no long distances.
The weather is good so I suspect today will be a beach day. Have a safe and healthy Saturday!

Your friend's wife is very lucky to have you and your family.
Yesterday was 97 degrees at one point. Swimming in the lake felt so amazing. It's another hot one. Today I hope to get a pedicure and run some errands. I need to pack.
I finished another book, Pretty Things. It's another story where two characters take turns narrating from first person point of view. I am really enjoying this type of storytelling.
Greetings All
Not much to tell here. We went to a mexican restaurant for lunch with friends yesterday. I ordered a small nacho plate and could barely make a dent in it. Thanks to sleeve. We brought most of DH burrito home and had a portion of it for dinner last night. Why is it that DH and I ate so little and yet we are the fattest people there. Well not actually.
Liz so glad your friend has your help but it sounds like more rough road ahead. I think its possible to have dialysis for awhile and then improve but no clue why I think that.
Poppy is now spending a lot of time in the yard with her mom and grandpa. Grandpa dog mostly suns on the deck. He has been put on a kidney diet due to his old age.
No fires in our immediate area but seems like they are in every direction. So we will just stay put.
My studio friend will probably be over today to see the puppy. Boy can she talk!
DH is busy researching new smoke detectors. Also issues with our Chevy Bolt which is under recall for the batteries that spontaneously catch fire. Not cool even though its 9 cars out of 70,000. We might just trade it in. As of yesterday they announced not to park it in a garage overnight and not to charge overnight. Geez.
I see Peps is having great success at shows in Oregon. Believe me folks, it represents years and years of work to win so much. Hats off to our Peps.
I have a piece of ham for dinner so no fussing there. I actually spend more time these days cooking for the dogs since they have rice and hamburger with their kibble. Working hard to prevent Poppy from being so fussy.
DD glad you can approach the end of life stuff with your mom. We had never done that with my dad before he got sick and died and we had to make those decisions. Not fun
My latest fantasy is to have a dumpster brought to the house and fill it up and have it hauled away. Dream on.
Cheers all. Diane S
I have a dumpster fantasy too. Don't know if DH would survive it! One summer, instead of a dumpster, I upped our trash capacity by getting two bins, just for the summer, when I had time to toss. I made sure both bins were full to the top each week. And that dear reader, is how I began parking my car in the garage again. :) That purge has lasted well over 10 years. Time to start another...
