Lobster galore last night! We had 2 pound lobsters and I couldn't eat it all. We have about 2-3 pounds of lobster meat left over (DS removed it from the shell). Lobster Rolls this week! Yesterday afternoon and last night was great. Very easy to get along with everyone including Mike's ex.
Apparently Tropical Storm Elsa is pretty much missing both my place and Mike's in Florida. They expect some showers this afternoon but that is it. Ocean Diane is likely going to see a lot more of Elsa where she is located. Here on Cape Cod we are currently predicted to get some rain and very mild winds on Friday. Not a big deal but it means Mike's NY daughter and grandchildren will probably leave for home tomorrow. He was hoping they would stay for the weekend so he would see them one more time. Regardless we will see them in mid-August when we go to Saratoga for the horse races.
Not much else going on here - today will definitely be a beach day.
Have a safe and healthy Wednesday!

Lobster sounds so good right now! I'm probably going to have some Greek yogurt shortly, just not the same.
The big news here is that it is chilly. Long pants and hoodie are needed. It was so hot over the weekend, wild swing in temperature.
I am trying to clean up my sleep hygiene a bit, since I should theoretically be feeling less stress, and not sleeping does not have the same consequence as it does in the school year. So no resorting to Tylenol PM if I'm not falling asleep. So far, so good.
I might work on some craft projects today since outdoors isn't too appealing today. Or read. So far this break I've read The Couple Next Door, and The Last Mrs. Parish. I enjoyed them both, staying up until the wee hours to finish them. If you like the unreliable narrator genre, like Gone Girl, you would enjoy these books. During the school year, I don't always have the stamina to concentrate on books, so devouring them in one sitting during break is a real treat.
Thank you for book recommendations!

We are leaving today for a long weekend of dog shows. It's going to be HOT, but I'm still excited to be going off in GOAT and getting a break from the construction (which is all supposed to be done this Friday.... Not likely, IMO). Hoping to have time to check in and post while away.
Working through some old "childhood" garbage seems to be helping my mood and eating - less emotional hunger. Weight continues to drop by tenths into a more mentally comfortable number. Physically I don't think 5-10 pounds makes much difference in my appearance, but who knows, since body dysmorphia inhibits my ability to judge honestly.
I do love a good Lobster roll, Liz! What I don't like is when the roll is too dry and dense. I think Lobster rolls should be served in Hawaiian rolls or brioche rolls.
Got an email from a dog acquaintance yesterday asking me the meaning of GOAT for the RV. It was a nice walk down memory lane recalling Shel's goat companion while she was hiking the Cascades, getting ready for her Mt. Rainier trek. Once again, I was reminded of my fondness for her and what an exemplary role model she was for us. I hope her daughter is doing okay.
Well, I must prepare for "take off".
DS agrees about brioche rolls - they were purchased this morning along with the celery needed to make the lobster salad. SIL is coming for dinner with a green salad to accompany them!

Greetings All
My niece, her son and puppy left yesterday. We had taken them to the airport the day before but the flight was so delayed they had to book a different airline and wait a day. We watched the movie "Trolls" which was actually pretty good and I would never have seen had I not been hosting a 6 year old. Niece said pup was good on the plane. Initial airline tasseled her about the pup but we had health cert and gobs of paperwork. Glad we did.
So we are down to the pup we are keeping - Joni Mitchel - who will now be known as Poppy. She is pretty mellow for a terrier. Slept alone in a crate for the first time last night. DH has been a trooper about taking her out in the night and such. Our house is a complete shambles. Need to come up with plans for fencing off the electronics.
Eating has been a compele joke. Much junk food and fast food though I have kept the quantities small. Thanks sleeve. We did go to one wonderful hole in the wall seafood place that has a fabulous hot crab sandwich. I got oysters also excellent. But french fries included. Kid orders a pbj at the seafood restaurant on the bay!!
Lobster roll sounds great. Don't think I have ever had it.
DianeO hope you are safe. Hurricane stuff is scary. Stay dry.
Sounds like everyone had a great holiday. I don't remember last year's 4th. Might have been canceled.
Our county had a covid death yesterday. 80 year old. Its still out there folks. Be safe.
Safe travels on the Goat Peps. I made a little goat head the other day for a wine stopper. I should make a black and white one like old Stink Eye. I think of Shel often.
I hope to get to the swimming pool today or tomorrow. Lots to catch up with now that the puppy-thon is mainly over.
