It's July!

We didn't end up going to VA today. The plane had trouble and the replacement was going to be too late so we had to delay.

The sun is out! It's gorgeous today. My dad and I went for a walk and I'm about to make some lunch and sit outside. Laundry is going. Not sure what I'm doing this afternoon yet...

Hope everyone is having a good day!

I like my therapist very much. She wants to see me weekly for a bit, and I'm fine with that.

Summer seems to be slipping away.... I think maybe because I haven't been able to do some of the things at home I was hoping to do because of the construction, I am feeling less accomplished than I had hoped.

Ocean Diane... WTH is DC doing in FL???? I thought he was in NY state. I'm sorry he is in such close proximity to you. That must be a unnerving considering his mental instability. I would advise you to let the local police know the situation so that should a call come in from you or a neighbor, it is taken seriously and dealt with swiftly. Sending strength and protective thoughts your way.

Yesterday, I drove my dad to the Tesla dealership to pick up his car. My dad has always loved the idea of a non internal combustion engine, but has a love hate relationship with the car. It's too high tech for him, which causes problems on a regular basis. Of course, Tesla has to be special and use tires that can only be purchased through Tesla, so the car had to be towed to Tesla some 45 minutes away for a single tire that cost $360 to replace. And I thought my old BMW was pricy to maintain! Tesla has BMW and Mercedes beat in that respect. Okay, long narrative to say, my brother and I are determined now to help my dad fulfill his threat of going back to a hybrid which can be serviced locally and is less high tech. Fingers crossed.

Weight is down 2 pounds. Whew! Like 2 pounds really matters. LOL! But I do know that 2 pounds plus 2 pounds plus 2 pounds and so on does matter....

I am bored with my continual exploration of eating dysfunction. It is much less challenging to eat thoughtlessly and without concern as to WHY I am eating when I am not hungry. While I can't say that thinking about my eating and what the drivers are is hard, it is time consuming and sometimes challenging or uncomfortable.

I decided to join a gym yesterday. It is very close to home and it is open 24/7. I would like to increase my workouts to 4 per week. I will still do 2 with the trainer, but add two more of my own. I TEND to eat a little better when I'm working out with more regularity, so maybe that will help on the eating front.

What it boils down to is making a decision and sticking to it no matter what the discomfort level may be. I have not made an honest decision to lose weight in recent history. I own that.

"It is much less challenging to eat thoughtlessly and without concern." OMG. Truth!!! Having to be so vigilant reminds me of a SNL skit where the pretend talk show host says, your take grows tiresome. This vigilance indeed grows tiresome! Yet, here we are. When I get overwhelmed with the battle, I remind myself obesity is a chronic disease. People who have MS or diabetes, etc have to make the same choices, do I pursue what will improve health/life or do I say $&@ it, and do what I want? It's not fair, and I don't like it, but nobody wants a chronic disease.

Good Morning All - TGIF - its been a long one. The weather is supposed to be pretty crappy over the weekend so Im thinking some inside projects will be on the go. DH is leaving for the farm on Sunday for 2 weeks - I will go up next Friday after work.

EOFY is done. Latest payroll changes are checked off and Im feeling content. Loving my new job. Its busy and fun. I love that I am more active - so does my body. Varied and challenging - Had my old boss and his wife over for dinner last night - was wonderful to catch up. I love that we will remain a part of each others lives - they are pretty much family.

Not a lot to report - Taking my mum out to dinner Saturday night at a Korean BBQ place - should be fun. Eldest DS is coming too as thats their normal dinner night. Hoping to see youngest DS at some stage and get the last of our lights installed so I can do the patch painting. See what happens

Well I had best run, getting lots done this morning so best keep it up

Love to you all

So glad Cecily didn't end up on a plane with technical issues. Worried about Diane. Stay safe! Devon, good that you joined a gym. And Shirl, of course you will remain close to your former boss - your heart is wide!

Not much new here - hot today, rain tonight. I made a favorite pasta dish for dinner. Not lo-cal.

Talk tomorrow! Stay safe and healthy!
