So sorry that your Aunt and family have to endure this. It is a terrible state to be in, but there is no way of knowing how long it will last. The end is generally in sight when the person can't swallow properly and chokes on food and water. My DH zoomed through the last stages at the end, but that is not necessarily the norm.

Good Morning All

All but 3 of our states are in lockdown - chaos....... We have a holiday to Far North Queensland booked for 21/7 (after cancelling it last year due to COVID) - its looking less likely by the day. Waiting to see what happens if they come out of lockdown on Friday. Its a minute by minute thing. Our vaccine rollout is a complete shambles. We manufacture Astra Zenica but may as well not be - there is constantly changing advice about who is ok to review it and what age group. I think they would be hard pressed to find a handful of people who have confidence in it - not being helped with differing opinions from each states Chief Medical Officers. My DH had the chills after his, my boss - sore arm - both expected - my SIL had an eye bleed and 3 dizzy spells over a 36 hour period after hers. Not good. I am booked for my pfizer on 16/7 - so everthing crossed as I have to drive 4 hours to get it done near the farm.

Been a crazy week with End of Financial Year but we got through it. Late night 2 nights ago with a tender submission - I got home at 10pm - big day. My old boss and his wife are coming for tea tonight so Im looking forward to that.

Glad you're getting the Pfizer with your history of clot issues!

Thanks Cec - My doctor strongly advised against AZ vaccine for me - so I was waiting for Pfizer

My poor mum has same clot history but cant get a shot till later this year as she is over 60 (80 in August) and they are still saying they only qualify for Astra Zenica - with a very narrow exception window which only includes thrombosis not other clotting issues. Even with a referral from her Doctor I could not get her the Pzifer shot ! Driving me insane

Maddening. You'd think they'd want her vaccinated and given there is an alternative that would work and would be safer for her, it's got to be so frustrating to not be able to get it!

What a mess - I hope Australia gets more of the other vaccines so everyone can qualify and gets them rolled out soon.
