Mike may be the best boyfriend ever! He helped me trim trees and clear brush and really did the bulk of the work yesterday on a hot, humid day. Then we took Justice for a long walk along the harbor which seemed to clear out his system, thank goodness. There was a lot of cleanup on aisle 9 required yesterday morning, but Justice finally ate well again last night. After which Mike took me for "date night" at a nice restaurant here on the ocean. Really a perfect day!

This morning while Mike golfs I am doing laundry, bills and running to the food store. He will meet SIL and me at a friends home for lunch so I can see their children and grandchildren. I haven't seen any of the kids for probably 2 years since we didn't get together last summer. I am sure they have changed so much!

Not much else on the agenda. I need to get my act in gear and go to the store before it gets busy.

Have a safe and healthy Sunday!

Mike does sound like the best boyfriend ever, probably because he has the best girlfriend ever! He's probably thinking, Liz is out taking care of our household stuff while I golf. :) It seems the two of you are equally matched.

Absolutely gorgeous morning here after yesterday's much needed rain. I'm on the porch with tea, and the Sunday paper.

Yesterday I did putzy cleaning in my office/auxiliary guest room. DD's room used to be the official guest room with a queen bed and no other purpose but bedroom, but it seems it is occupied fulltime these days. :) I sorted through a lot of paper and tossed things from the school year, and also a great deal of the medical papers generated by my cancer last year. They handed me so many resources about things like support groups etc that I just tucked away, in case I would want to use them one day. It felt good to purge them, and also to be reminded how very different this summer is.

What will I do today? Hmm, whatever strikes my fancy I think. I'm in the mood to keep doing long deferred projects, so I'll keep chipping away at those.

Happy Sunday!

Sounds like you are just enjoying your free time getting organized. Good for you!

I was social today! I went to the neighbor's anniversary party at a cute local bar. While I was super nervous, I saw some people I know and met some nice new ones. I'm going to try hard to not dissect everything I said or did (which is a common thing with social anxiety that perpetuates the cycle of anxiety so it ratchets up with each event). My voice hurts. It's been a while since I needed to talk at volume in a group to be heard!

One of the people I met was a woman who is my age and is from the same area in England as my good friend I'm going to see! A small area so really blew her mind that I'm heading there this year. She was recruited here by the hospital in the 90s when there was a shortage of PTs and the US was recruiting around the world. She said she's going to invite me to her book club next month.

It's very foggy here, but no rain today. I'd like to see the sun again sometime soon!

I think that's all I have. Hope you all are having a good day!

Good that you had a good time socializing. No re-examining how it went! Of course everyone enjoyed your company!

I have dug hundreds of holes, both big and small, and I really like how my yard looks! Now that everything's planted and pots are placed where I want them, tomorrow I can go after overgrown shrubs etc. The hill in our backyard is "wild", but even wild needs a little pruning occasionally.

How is the fence battle with your neighbor this year?

She's an odd one. She hasn't touched my vines, but the other day she was standing on her deck with an extension pole clipper thingie cutting branches off our tree. She has every right to cut branches that hang over her property line, and I can't see the tree from the side she cut (unlikely I'll be having a drink on her deck anytime soon), so whatever. At least she has stopped talking with DH and me on multiple occasions about how a root from our tree was visible in her yard. They have zero trees in their yard, maybe that's why she's so obsessed with mine? She told my husband that they got a bid for a privacy fence to run along ours, but it was too expensive. We were sad. The neighbors on the other side are delightful, we like them, their daughter, and their dog so much, so I guess it evens out.
