I'm in love with my little nephew! Though I met him at Christmas time, I couldn't hold him. I finally got to hold him, jump him on my lap, and make him laugh. So responsive! And so energetic. SIL and I talked about possibly tag-teaming when he stays over without his Mom there. He is only 8 months old but already pulling himself up to stand and somewhat cruise the furniture.

We are tree trimming this morning then we will see what the day brings. Tonight is "date" night, as designated by Mike as we are going out for dinner at a place on the water. Justice is not feeling well possibly because of a too rapid change in food so I don't know if he will be recovered enough for a walk. Right now he is curled up in his bed and doesn't even want to sit in my lap as he usually does.

Have a safe and healthy Saturday!

I saw the pictures of your nephew on Facebook, he is such a pretty baby! And your sil looked like such a happy Grandma. How nice you got a chance to finally play with him. :)

DH is at an air show in Duluth. (About 2 hours away). Growing up an air force brat, he really loves aviation shows and museums. Me, not so much, so I'm glad he has friends who do.

Last night DD said we should "sit on a patio" so we sent to Minneapolis for dinner. I did fine with food, it was too spicy for my Finnish palate, so that really slowed me down. I did have 2 "craft" ****tails ("craft" so they can charge lots, although they were really good) so spent too many calories and $. I'm okay with it though, it was a beautiful night. One of DD 's friends who lives in the area joined us for dessert (I was able to pass on that!), adding to the fun.

Today is cooler and overcast. We really, really need some rain, so hope these clouds are the real deal. It's been so hot all week, any rain clouds that showed up just evaporated without spilling one raindrop. If it rains, I'm hoping to work on a sewing project, making throw pillows for chairs on the deck. And by sewing, I mean using disposable iron on tape. So they will be very simple, but hopefully give a pop of color on weathered deck.

Happy Saturday!

Raining here for days and for most of the next week! It was needed, though, so I'll keep my complaints about my frizzy hair to a minimum...

I didn't weigh today.

Ran to the post office this morning to mail a birthday card, but otherwise have been in the grips of a fantastic show from the UK - Line of Duty. It's on BritBox subscription service not sure about the others, but it's so good I couldn't not recommend. This morning I finished season 3 and was so on the edge of my seat for the whole final 1.5 hour episode I felt like I'd run a marathon by the end! Does that count as exercise if my heart was pounding the whole time? It's about anti-corruption police officers going after bad cops in their ranks. But all the seasons weave together and you never quite know who's the bad guy and who's the good guy. Amazing cast. Lots of famous faces I recognize. Exhausting!

I might put together the final rug today given the rain and lack of outdoor interest. I have offers to help move the bed from the folks...

I am going to an anniversary party tomorrow and accepted an invitation for dinner from some friends when my dad and his wife are gone on a boat trip next week. So trying to be social!

Hope you all are doing well!

The first 6 seasons of Line of Duty seem to be on Hulu. Yeah for a new engrossing show!

Greetings all

What a beautiful nephew Liz! We are all smitten. What fun.

I am preparing for a week or two of bad eating. One guest arrives tonight and two more in a few days. I can't handle a great deal of cooking elaborate stuff so its going to be pizza and pasta and crap. Tonights guest arrives at 9 pm and so I will get a pizza and she can have some when she arrives. I would get take out mexican but she is coming from Mexico and probably does not want any crappy gringo versions. Maybe take out salads from the health food store.

The puppies have escaped every alcatraz we have made for them so there is a new pen. They got out and one followed Tesla out the dog door to the outside! They also run to the back bedroom because it has mirrored closet doors and they like looking at themselves.

Thanks for the viewing tip Cecily. I think we have one of the brit tv channels. I want to get a trial of the Discovery channel because there is this documentary about the Beatrice Six. Story of six people who were wrongfully convicted of a murder. It interests me because its the small town my dad grew up in and I spent a lot of time there and the prosecutor was someone I went to law school with.

Get well Justice.

Cecily glad you have fun plans. Hope everyone is staying cool.

Just found out the public fireworks over Humboldt Bay are going to happen this year. Could be a fun time for my little great nephew.

SIL is still in hospital receiving from fourth hip repair. And she is cranky. Who wouldn't be.

Haha, Alcatraz. Many tried, few escaped, these are smart puppies. I love thinking about them checking themselves out in the mirror. Too cute!
